Ariel Winter Debuts Short Hair: New Haircut For ‘Modern Family’ Actress
Modern Family actress Ariel Winter has taken to Snapchat to share a picture of her new haircut. The 18-year-old has become something of a style icon of late, using her social media channels to show off various new looks. Winter’s new shorter haircut is believed to have been inspired by Kylie Jenner, who is a year older than the Modern Family actress. The new look follows the actress gaining attention for a number of raunchy Instagram shots over the Halloween weekend.
According to the Daily Mail, Ariel Winter has been spotted on the set of Modern Family sporting her new haircut. The actress is currently busy filming the show’s eighth season, in which she plays Alex Dunphy, the family’s shy but intelligent middle child, in comparison to her louder partying going fictional older sibling, Haley, played by Sarah Hyland.
Since turning 18, Winter has experimented with her style and gained attention for a number of revealing ensembles. However, this is the first time that the Modern Family actress has drastically changed her haircut, with that aforementioned Snapchat shot seeing Winter lose her signature long, loose and wavy style in favor of a more refined look. As to be expected, the actress has received a good deal of attention for her new haircut, with fans expressing their love for the new look on social media.
The length of her hair isn’t the only thing Winter has changed about her look, however. According to People, the star has also been experimenting with the color of her hair lately, before finally settling on a fiery shade of crimson. What’s more, that aforementioned Snapchat post hasn’t just garnered attention because of Winter’s new haircut, with the star also receiving acclaim for her bold choice of clothing, which sees her cleavage practically bulging out of a skin tight white top.

As aforementioned, Winter is currently busy filming Season 8 of Modern Family. Exactly how the actress’s new look will fit into hit comedy remains to be seen. However, Winter has already been spotted on the set of Modern Family sporting hair extensions that look more in line with her character on the show, Alex Dunphy.
Alongside her cast mates, Winter has picked up four Screen Actors Guild Awards for Best Ensemble in a Comedy Series. Whilst Modern Family remains Winter’s primary focus, she’s also just finished filming Dog Years, in which she stars alongside Burt Reynolds, who plays an aging former movie star who is forced to admit his best days are behind him. The film sees Reynolds’ character meet Winter’s character, in a tale that is said to be about faded time and growing older.
Despite her young age, Winter’s private life has been lived largely in the public eye. In 2012, when she was 14-years-old, her sister became her guardian following Winter’s claims that their mother had been physically and emotionally abusive. What’s more, just last year, Winter publicly revealed that she had undergone breast reduction surgery, a decision that was received with a good deal of support from her Modern Family co-stars and many other famous faces on social media.
Modern Family is currently airing on Wednesdays at 9 p.m on ABC – in which Ariel Winter plays Alex Dunphy. Winter has been a member of the show’s cast since its first season in 2009 when the actress was just 12-years-old, which has largely contributed towards her very public private life.
