Fareed Zakaria: Trump ‘Not Normal Candidate,’ ‘Cancer’ On Democracy, ‘GPS’ Host Reveals Presidential Choice

Fareed Zakaria, the host of CNN’s GPS, spoke about his opposition to Donald Trump in today’s episode of the show, two days before election day, Tuesday, November 8.

“I’m not a highly partisan person,” the Zakaria-Trump take began.

The journalist stated that he holds views seen as both conservative and liberal. Zakaria described traveling to the United States from India during Republican Ronald Reagan’s presidency and holding the former actor in admiration.

Fareed Zakaria expressed that he holds Senator John McCain and former Governor Mitt Romney, the last two Republican presidential nominees, in high regard.

“Donald Trump is different,” the CNN host stated seriously.

Zakaria called the Republican “obnoxious,” “tacky,” and “vulgar,” and accused him of being a “scam artist,” explaining that Trump is different because of the beliefs he holds. The host stated that understanding Donald Trump’s “core beliefs” requires only an examination of his words and actions.

Fareed Zakaria stated that many of Donald Trump’s ideas and the language he uses “can only be described as racist.”

The GPS host held up the early ’70s lawsuit alleging that Donald Trump was refusing to rent apartments to African-American tenants, who were otherwise completely qualified, as previously reported by the Inquisitr.

Zakaria addressed the fact that Donald Trump took full-page ads out in New York City newspapers calling for a return of the death penalty for the “Central Park Five,” a group of now-exonerated youths bullied into confessing to a brutal 1989 beating and rape of which they were innocent, as previously reported by the Inquisitr. Despite being exonerated with DNA evidence and a confession by the true perpetrator, Donald Trump has not appeared to accept the outcome, which has resulted in multi-million dollar settlements for the five wrongfully accused men, now in their 40s.

“Trump seems to believe deeply in ethnic stereotypes,” Fareed Zakaria stated.

“He boasts of his own bloodline and compares it to breeding race horses.”

The host read a quote from Trump with regard to black employees working in his accounting department, indicating that he would instead prefer to see Jews.

Fareed Zakaria moved to Donald Trump’s “protectionist” trade ideas and spoke of the Republican nominee’s views that Japan was about to dominate the world in the 1980s, and the fact that it “never happened.” He noted that Trump now appears to have Mexico and China in his cross-hairs, shining light on the fact that Mexico’s economy is so small that it has little effect on the United States.

The host turned to his belief about the Republican nominee’s view that “women exist fundamentally as objects for men’s pleasure.”

Zakaria cited Trump’s Howard Stern interviews, his involvement with the Miss Universe pageants, and the way he describes working-class women.

“You have to treat them like s***,” Fareed Zakaria quoted Trump from New York Magazine with regard to women.

The Indian-American journalist also featured the Republican’s and his supporters’ assertion that Hillary Clinton should be jailed in today’s report.

The CNN host finished by speaking toward Donald Trump’s authoritarian streak, which includes threats to make changes to the First Amendment and libel laws, threats to people who make contributions to his political opponents, proposed unconstitutional policies, and proposed policies that would amount to “war crimes.”

Zakaria listed Trump’s plan for a Muslim ban, waterboarding suspects of terrorism and murdering the families of terrorists. Fareed noted that Trump compared his proposed Muslim ban with the internment of Japanese in the United States during the Second World War, “implying that he approved of that measure.”

The host expressed his position that views on both Trump’s policies and Clinton are “irrelevant.”

“Donald Trump is not a normal candidate,” Fareed Zakaria stated. “He is

“He is a cancer on American democracy and that is why I will vote against him next Tuesday.”
