Husband Shoots Innocent Bradenton Man Dead After Wife Makes Up Affair To Make Him Jealous

A man, Derrick Frazier, 32, in Bradenton, Florida is being charged with second-degree murder after he reportedly shot another man to death after his wife made up cheating allegations to make him jealous, according to the Bradenton Herald.

Manatee County police were dispatched to a home in the 1100 block of Fifth Street West at around 6 a.m. Thursday, November 3, about a possible shooting. Upon arrival, they discovered a man dead at the scene who was later identified as 30-year-old Dequan Randolph.

Witnesses, including Frazier’s wife, – who has not been named – stated that he pulled up to the home, where she and the victim were standing, and got out of his pickup truck without uttering a word. He reportedly walked up to the victim and shot him in the center of the chest before driving away.

Frazier was arrested three hours after the fatal shooting when police put out a fugitive alert. He was found “several miles from the crime scene,” and he was taken to the county jail, where he was interviewed by police.

While in police custody the suspect initially denied being at the scene, but later admitted to being at the house – changing his story several times.

It was alleged that as he was driving past the home, he just so happened to see his wife standing outside with another man, someone who she admitted to having an affair with.

When Frazier drove up to the home and exited the vehicle, he stated that Randolph pulled out a firearm, which prompted a struggle.

However, according to a local medical examiner, there wasn’t a physical altercation between the two men and it was reported that the victim was shot at close range.

According to detective Jim Curulla, it was later uncovered that the wife fabricated an affair with Randolph to make her husband of three months jealous. Apparently, she discovered her husband was cheating and wanted to get even but her retaliation scheme soon turned deadly when Frazier allegedly shot the other man dead.

The victim’s family and friends gathered at the crime scene and “watched as investigators processed evidence.” His heartbroken mother, Ammie Houston, was present and she told reporters that “there was nothing he wouldn’t do for anyone. He would take the shirt off his back.”

“He doesn’t deserve this,” Houston said as she sobbed uncontrollably. “He did not deserve this.”

Several social media users questioned whether or not the wife should be criminally charged as she was the one who made up the affair, which led to Randolph’s untimely death.

“The wife should be charged too,” said Donna Falcaro in a Facebook post. “How awful to lie. And he was an innocent man. Sad”

“That wife should be charged as an accomplice,” wrote another Facebook user.

Ash Un Tameable became irate after learning about the Bartow shooting. In a Facebook post, she wrote: “You are one dumb b****. You all are married. Why cheat and bring an innocent person in your drama?

She went on to say that “God doesn’t like ugly. They should arrest her a** too. Now your husband going die in jail because he is sick.”

It was not immediately made clear if the wife, who fabricated the cheating story that led to Randolph’s death, will be criminally charged.

After the fatal shooting, Frazier made his first court appearance Friday afternoon where Circuit Judge Gilbert Smith Jr. ordered the suspect to be held without bond.

Public Defender’s Office will temporarily represent Frazier until he hires a private attorney.

Investigators say they are going to continue to canvas the area and interview witnesses about the fatal shooting.
