Did Perrie Edwards Just Diss Ex Zayn Malik Again Following ‘Shout Out To My Ex’?

Celebs Now reports that Perrie Edwards may have dissed ex Zayn Malik again following the explosive release of “Shout Out To My Ex.”

The new Little Mix track “F.U.” contains some pointed lines about an ex, and they’re far from positive. Perrie and company call out a cheating ex, accusing him of kissing another woman and using two cell phones in an effort to cover his tracks.

“I know you were with her/I know that you kissed her. You came home late and I was so mad/Had my break up speech ready… You cheatin’, you lyin’/I know that you’re hiding two cellphones.”

Now wonders if the lines could be about Zayn Malik, who is rumored to have cheated on Perrie prior to their surprise 2015 breakup, which came shortly after Zayn quit One Direction. Zayn quit the band citing a desire to be “a normal 22-year-old.” Zayn and Perrie had been engaged, and were viewed as one of 1D’s most solid couples.

Perrie had good reason to be upset with Zayn. Hollywood Life reports that he dumped her via text message, ending their four-year engagement.

The mag also reveals that an ex reduced Perrie to screaming and tears at an airport after a particularly “horrible” phone conversation at one point during their relationship. Hollywood Life reports that it sounds like the upsetting ex was probably Zayn Malik.

Perrie said that she was so shaken it felt like she was possessed, according to the report.

“I was at the airport and I got an awful phone call, erm, from someone… And then… I just… what did I…? I just remember screaming in the airport. I was like a women possessed! It was awful! It just blubbed and blubbed and I thought I was going to explode.”

Zayn denied in interviews that he dumped Perrie with a text message, saying that he would not be so cruel.

Fans and media outlets speculated that Little Mix’s recent hit track “Shout Out To My Ex” sounded like it was about Zayn.

“Shout Out To My Ex” contains lyrics about Perrie’s recovery.

“That hurt me, I’ll admit,” Perrie sings at one point, miming that she is wiping a tear from her eye. However, in the next frame she is happier, singing “forget that boy, I’m over it.”

Perrie even hints that she did not particularly enjoy her sex life with the ex.

“I hope she gettin’ better sex, hope she ain’t fakin’ it like I did baby,” Perrie sings.

Many have speculated that these lines were about Zayn’s new girlfriend, model Gigi Hadid.

Other lyrics in the song describe deleting all of a boy’s pictures from a social media account and blocking his phone number.

Bitter lines state that the ex “took all he could get” but the overall tone is one of triumph. Perrie and co. thank the ex for “the tattoos and hate yous,” saying that the boy may have broken her heart but the chance to experience her own strength made her who she is. The lines speak of snapping back from the experience like a rubber band, and feeling brand new.

“Oh, I deleted all your pics
Then blocked your number from my phone
Yeah yeah, you took all you could get
But you ain’t getting this love no more
‘Cause now I’m living so legit
Even though you broke my heart in two, baby
But I snapped right back, I’m so brand new, baby
Boy, read my lips, I’m over you, over you

“Guess I should say thank you
For the ‘hate yous’ and the tattoos
Oh baby, I’m cool by the way
Ain’t sure I loved you anyway
Go ‘head, babe, I’mma live my life, my life, yeah”

The new track “F.U.” already has a fan in President Barack Obama. A Twitter feed updating on Obama’s Spotify activity reveals that he was listening to the track recently. Obama has also listened to “Shout Out To My Ex” in recent weeks.

The new Little Mix album is due to drop on November 18.
