NBC is saying goodbye to Animal Practice.

The Hollywood Reporter notes that the show, which stars Justin Kirk from Weeds, will continue to air until November 7. Whitney will take its spot in the Wednesday night lineup the following week.

Animal Practice started with strong ratings when a test episode aired during the Olympics. Its official time slot debut brought in a 1.4 rating in the key demo but dropped to 1.0 last night. Entertainment Weekly reports that last night’s episode brought in 3.8 million viewers and had the worst rating of any network show in the hour.

NBC recently put Whitney and Community into the bullpen in case they decided to cancel one of their comedies. Well, it turns out that was a good move. Whitney will now move into the Wednesday slot. Community still doesn’t have a premiere date.

NBC’s two other new comedies, Go On and The New Normal were both picked up with full series orders. The new drama Revolution was also picked up for a full first season.
