WWE Rumors: ‘WrestleMania 33’ Spoilers For WWE Universal Champion Given By Superstar Odds?

There are always plenty of WWE rumors going around as WWE paves the road to WrestleMania, and this coming year will be no different. However, with WrestleMania 33 still months away, the rumors are already heating up for this big event. As professional wrestling fans know, the title pictures are a big deal as they could really help set the stage for a great match card or a complete flop. Those championship pictures also involve the Royal Rumble winner, and other factors, such as who is hurt or available to participate. That said, some potential spoilers may be showing themselves through the latest WWE betting odds about who will be Universal Champion once Mania has ended.

It was recently reported by WrestleZone that Roman Reigns and Kevin Owens will battle in a match involving the WWE Universal Championship at WWE’s Roadblock event. Right now, Reigns holds the United States title after he defeated Rusev for the belt. Meanwhile, Owens has been the reigning WWE Universal Champion, ever since Finn Balor’s injury and Triple H’s subsequent interference in a four man match for the vacant strap.

So now Reigns and Owens will compete at the Roadblock pay-per-view, which takes place on December 18 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania in what is being billed as a champion versus champion type match. That leads to initial speculation that Reigns is going to hold two belts at the end of 2016.

An interesting article at WWE Leaks website examines the latest betting odds available for which superstar will be the Universal Champion once WrestleMania 33 has ended. Right now, there are two main favorites: Seth Rollins and Finn Balor. Both superstars have 7 to 4 odds to leave Mania as champion. Current champion Kevin Owens is next on the list at 5 to 2 odds, followed by Roman Reigns with 10 to 3 odds, and Brock Lesnar with 11 to 2 odds.

The report goes on to mention that if Reigns somehow wins the Universal title from Owens in December, he could move up in terms of his odds to have the title at the end of WrestleMania. However, right now it seems very unlikely that Reigns is going to have both titles to finish out 2016, unless WWE has some huge plan. Reigns hasn’t had the popularity WWE wants him to garner as a major champion. Also, it seems like WWE may have some other plans for who they want to become the champion at WrestleMania. So that leaves Rollins or Balor as the best guesses to walk out of Orlando with the title.

Most of the speculation for Seth Rollins is that he’s going to have a match against Triple H at some point. Triple H got involved in costing Rollins the championship on Raw, leading most fans to believe they’ll cross paths again at some point, with a build up to a WrestleMania 33 match. That would seem to remove Rollins from the title picture, despite the fact he has such high odds.

It seems like the smartest move is going to be having Finn Balor win the Royal Rumble and go on to win back his Universal Championship on the grandest stage of them all. It’s the type of story WWE loves to play out, as fans seemed supportive of Balor and some were sympathetic towards his short reign as champion. There’s also been speculation that somehow Chris Jericho and Kevin Owens will begin to feud with one another, and that maybe Jericho wins the Rumble and challenges his former friend for the championship at Mania.

WrestleMania 33 will arrive in early April of next year and the build should start as of January 2017 with the Rumble. Of course, the WWE has been known to change up their title picture plans quickly along the way to adapt to various issues including injuries, backstage heat, suspensions and what not. Therefore take any potential rumors of who will be the champion with a grain of salt.

WWE fans, who do you think will walk out of WrestleMania 33 with the Universal Championship? Will it be Kevin Owens, Seth Rollins, Finn Balor, or someone else?
