WWE News: WWE Superstar Finn Balor To Return At ‘WWE Roadblock’ This December

WWE Superstar Finn Balor has been out of action due to an injury since the night after WWE SummerSlam, but now the Demon King could be making his return much sooner than we all thought. Balor was hurt in a match with Seth Rollins at SummerSlam where he mistimed the landing in Rollins’ powerbomb causing him to dislocate his shoulder.

Finn Balor was a complete bada** and actually put his shoulder back into place right away. Talk about toughness, and to make it better, he finished the match which ended up being a while later. The powerbomb was toward the beginning of the match, which shows how dedicated this man is. He also did not skip a beat and many of us had no clue he was even hurt until later.

WWE feels that Finn Balor is a star and they wanted to start his move to the top right away, which was why he became a World Champion faster than anyone when he became the first ever WWE Universal Champion. Obviously one would imagine that he would get a rematch for the championship when he comes back, which seemed to be, at the time, around WrestleMania 33.

However, it appears he may be back sooner than we thought. According to Ringside News, Finn Balor is scheduled to be part of WWE Roadblock next month on the 18th of December. He is advertised for the event that will take place in Pittsburgh, PA. Others advertised include the “RAW Women’s Champion” Charlotte, “RAW Tag Team Champions” The New Day, Sasha Banks, Enzo Amore and Big Cass, Seth Rollins, and Sami Zayn just to name a few.

We learn a number of things from this. Firstly, it appears little to no title changes are set to take place at WWE Survivor Series later this month. It was always speculated that some would be involved in matches and pull double duty at the event, but that may not be the case this time around. That is a pretty big thing to know now as speculation can be put to rest for at least a few championships.

Normally, champions are advertised in advance, usually as a way to promote things heading into a major event. Of course, often times WWE sends the names over and arenas announce things far too early at times, which can cause issues with creative. It does not mean WWE will not have the title change hands, so we should not imagine they will. However, it looks unlikely that any champion involved in the Survivor Series five on five matches will wrestle twice.

On top of this, the event is also advertising Sasha Banks. She very well could be hurt, but as of now, she is advertised. Many think she’ll be the final addition to the RAW Women’s Survivor Series team. It was widely assumed that Banks was hurt coming out of WWE Hell in a Cell, but nothing was ever confirmed and many believe she was just selling her injuries from the cell match. Charlotte Flair did not wrestle on WWE RAW the following night herself, but still did appear. This means Banks may very well be a “dramatic” addition.

Regardless, the biggest story here is that Finn Balor will be returning. The question is, will he be there in a non-wrestling role or will he be back to action by that time. We all heard he was ahead of schedule, but most felt if we did see him it would not be until January’s WWE Royal Rumble event. It would be awesome to see Balor dramatically return at The Rumble, inside the Rumble match to end up winning the whole thing and go on to WrestleMania 33 to take on the WWE Universal Champion.

As of now, he is advertised, but that does not mean he’ll automatically return to the ring. It was claimed that he would have been able to come back by now if he just tore his labrum. However, he hurt other things as well, which pushed his comeback to at least 2017. It is unlikely he would be medically cleared to return to the ring by December. January was already pushing it and February made more sense than anything. Finn Balor is already on the WrestleMania 33 poster, so we know he’ll be there. That said, why rush him back and risk his first WrestleMania appearance? We’ll have to wait and see what WWE does.
