Caroline Wozniacki Sports Unique Dress, Blames Decline On Off Court Promotions

Caroline Wozniacki found herself as the No. 1 ranked player in the world at the end of last year, but the women’s tennis standout now finds herself in the headlines for other reasons.

Busted Racquet reports that Wozniacki’s most recent dress, worn during a straight-set 6-1, 6-3 win over Urszula Radwanska at the Kremlin Cup, drew stares for its pink, white, and black tri-color patter. Her outfits are designed by by Stella McCartney.

The other news involving Wozniacki involves her slip in the world rankings. Wozniacki was the top-ranked woman in the world at the end of last year, but now she sits ranked No. 11. NDTV Sports reports Wozniacki blames a busy off-court promotional schedule for her decline.

“Sometimes people don’t realize how much attention, how much media, how much off-court stuff there is when you’re at the top of the women’s game and sometimes it’s just tough to get everything together and your body just says ‘I can’t any more’,” Wozniacki said.

Still, Wozniacki defends her busy time off the court citing the short time most tennis players get in the spotlight. She intends to honor all of her commitments.

“Other players maybe have the opportunity to practice four hours a day, whereas you maybe have one and a half, but you need to make the most of those one and a half hours,” Wozniacki said. “At some point you’re going to be a little bit tired and it’s going to affect your work.”

While her ranking has suffered, Wozniacki may be finding her stride once again. The Danish star player is rolling this week in Russia and is looking to win her second title of the year and 20th of her career. She will play Kremlin Cup defending champion Dominika Cibulkova next, and a tournament victory there could start her climb back up the rankings latter.
