‘GTA Online’ Temporarily Removes Unlock Requirements For Select Heist Vehicles This Weekend In Honor Of ‘Grand Theft Auto V’ Anniversary

After relaunching across various platforms since its initial release in 2013, Rockstar Games is currently celebrating Grand Theft Auto V‘s third anniversary by offering players a large selection of discounts to many of the weapons and vehicles found in GTA Online.

While announcing the release of the new Declasse Tornado Rat Rod custom racer to Grand Theft Auto V earlier this week, the developer also reminded fans on their official Rockstar Newswire blog that they only have until Monday to enjoy the in-game savings that have currently lowered the prices of several items in GTA Online by as much as 30 percent.

At the start of the two-week event in honor of GTA V‘s third anniversary, Rockstar Games also revealed that they have removed all unlock requirements for the various sales items. This gives all players the chance to own specific vehicles that previously required players to complete challenging heist missions in order to obtain such as the powerful Valkyrie helicopter. Anything purchased during the sale will remain unlocked once the event ends.

“There’s also 30% off a wide variety of vehicles, weapons and more – with fan-favorite items representing GTA Online content updates since November 2013’s Beach Bum update – from the star-spangled Liberator to the devastatingly powerful Heavy Shotgun to the Zentorno, T20 and more. We’ve temporarily rescinded all rank and completion requirements, so you can take full, unadulterated advantage of these limited time discounts now through Monday, November 7th.”

In addition to select heist vehicles, players can also currently purchase an assortment of cars that were first introduced to Grand Theft Auto V as part of past DLC updates. This includes discounts on the Liberator Monster Truck, the Albany Roosevelt Valor, and the Luxor Deluxe jet among others. Fans can also save millions by picking up the Aquarius Yacht in GTA Online during this weekend’s sale. Normally the Aquarius is the most expensive yacht in the game, but the sale has temporarily made it the cheapest of GTA Online‘s super boats.

Players can also unlock the Heavy Shotgun and the Marksman Rifle regardless of whether they meet the rank requirements or not. Those looking to further customize their GTA Online characters can even find discounts on approved clothing and tattoos.

During the first week of Grand Theft Auto V‘s third anniversary celebration, Rockstar Games also announced that they would be gifting $250,000 to anyone who logged into the game before the end of October. The money was then promised to be delivered directly to user’s accounts at a later date. According to a post on Rockstar’s official support website, fans should receive their cash sometime today.

“Players who log into GTAV or GTA Online during the GTA Online Anniversary Week can expect the GTA$250,000 to be posted to their in-game bank account no later than November 4, 2016.”

Besides discounts, Grand Theft Auto fans can also earn triple RP this weekend for participating in the new premium stunt race. Anyone who logs into GTA Online before Monday will also receive a couple of free in-game shirts in honor of the title’s recent Halloween event.

As Rockstar Games continues to celebrate the third anniversary of Grand Theft Auto V, the developer is also working on a stricter set of rules to help get rid GTA Online of cheaters. Just last week, the Inquisitr reported that Rockstar deleted trillions of “illegitimately gained” money from the game. The news was accompanied by a change to the title’s terms of service that would reset progression to cheaters’ accounts on the first offense. A second infraction will result in a permanent ban from the game.

Do you have any plans to pick up any of the discounted vehicles in GTA Online this weekend?
