WWE News: Major Injured Star’s Return Being Advertised For ‘Roadblock’ In December

One of the greatest and most talented wrestlers in the world got his grand chance on the stage when he became the first ever WWE Universal Champion at this year’s SummerSlam. Then, it was realized that Finn Balor had been injured in his match with Seth Rollins and would have to relinquish his title, as he would be out for quite a while. Some thought he would be back by the Royal Rumble in January, but now, WWE is actually promoting his return at Roadblock next month.

Currently, WWE is working to build up Survivor Series, which will have Monday Night Raw and SmackDown LIVE battling for brand supremacy. That event is set to take place in less than two weeks, and it is always one of the biggest of the year. Two weeks after that, SmackDown will put on their exclusive pay-per-view (PPV) with TLC.

Two weeks after that on December 18, Raw will put on their exclusive PPV with Roadblock for the final show of the year. Local advertisements in Pittsburgh have revealed that Finn Balor is actually going to be appearing, according to WrestleZone.

While that could just be the advertisement, it’s interesting that he is being advertised to the public in a local promotion, as everyone is seeing them. Not only is Balor being advertised but so is Seth Rollins, The New Day, Charlotte, Sami Zayn, Sasha Banks, and a whole host of other stars on the Raw brand.

Wrestling Inc. has taken it a step further and revealed that the local advertisements are also promoting a “Champion vs. Champion” main event at Roadblock. The advertisements state that WWE Universal Champion Kevin Owens will face off against United States Champion Roman Reigns in the main event.

WWE may not be fully aware of these advertisements running in the Pittsburgh area and may end up pulling them. The card is subject to change, but it seems like too much of a coincidence to think that the local station airing those advertisements came up with that match of Owens vs. Reigns out of nowhere.

These same advertisements are also stating that the full name of the PPV is WWE Roadblock: End of the Line, which also makes sense since it is the final big event of the year.

Back in August, the official website of WWE reported that the right shoulder injury suffered by Finn Balor is one that would force him to relinquish the Universal Championship. He held onto the brand new title for just one day and then underwent surgery to correct the problem.

Doctors reported a successful surgery on what was considered a “really high energy injury” that did some pretty extensive damage.

Due to the complications from the injury, Heavy reported that Balor was expected to be out for at least six months even though he hoped to be back in four. His hopes would have him eligible to return by the Royal Rumble in January, but some see that as pushing it.

With Finn Balor experiencing a 180-degree labrum tear, it’s hard to believe he will be back in December for Roadblock. Sure, he may show up to cut a promo, talk about his injury, or discuss what his plans are for when he returns, but it’s hard to think he will be in a place to compete.

For now, advertisements in Pittsburgh say he will be there, but only time well tell.

Those local advertisements for WWE and other wrestling events are sometimes put together by the TV station or someone else in the area. They aren’t always seen or approved by WWE from the start, and as always, the card and appearing superstars are subject to change. Finn Balor’s injury was expected to keep him out for quite a while, and the advertisement for Roadblock may not mean anything, but as of now, the event is being promoted with his appearance.
