Joe Jackson Flashes A Gun At Award Show, Says He’s Not Afraid To Use It [Video]

Insert pun based on Jacko’s discography here. The late Michael Jackson’s controversial stage father Joe Jackson recently revealed to a crowd that he carries a gun and he’s not afraid to use it.

The Jackson family patriarch — known for “raising his army of showbiz kids with an iron fist,” notes MSN revealed that he’s an avid Second Amendment rights man this weekend at the Black Music Awards in Las Vegas, flashing his gun to the crowd on stage. He opened his suit jacket to reveal the holstered weapon, proudly comparing his gun to an American Express card — specifically saying that he doesn’t leave home without it.

The strange incident began when he was introduced at the awards show in the Tuscany Hotel and Casino by his friend Majestik, who led with a story about Joe Jackson confronting Michael’s bodyguards weeks before the latter’s death. Majestik said that the confrontation resulted in Joe Jackson drawing his gun and saying, “If I hear you all givin’ my son drugs or doing anything illegal with my son … I’ma kill all of you,” reports TMZ.

After his introduction, Joe Jackson confirmed Majestik’s tale was true, saying, “It’s very true. Every word he said.”

He then told the crowd, “I carry a piece everywhere I go … I’m gonna show it to you,” opening the suit jacket to reveal it to the crowd. Joe Jackson explained, “I’ve been threatened a lot of times and so I need to be safe.”

Whether or not Joe is even legally allowed to carry a firearm is unknown, as he did not respond for comment. Here’s video of the incident and the reveal, courtesy of TMZ:
