Oakland Raiders Vs. Denver Broncos: Bold Predictions For NFL Week 9

Heading into Week 9 of the 2016 NFL season, the Oakland Raiders and Denver Broncos are set to renew their AFC West rivalry. It is a game that could have playoff implications for both teams, as they are sitting at 6-2 on the season and battling with each other for the division title.

There are quite a few big games on the schedule this week, but none bigger than this one. These two teams are without question contenders in the AFC and they are both looking to make a point this week.

Derek Carr and the Raiders have put together one of the NFL’s most dynamic offenses. He has put his name in consideration for being one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL and a potential future superstar. Oakland hasn’t seen this kind of offensive firepower in quite some time.

Denver, on the other hand, has had a tough time replacing Peyton Manning and Brock Osweiler. Trevor Siemian has played decently well, but the Broncos’ offense isn’t all that powerful. Their defense has been impressive, to say the least, and have shown no signs of slowing down over the last couple of weeks.

All of that being said, what bold predictions can be made for the Raiders vs. Broncos game in NFL Week 9 action?

Derek Carr Humbles the Denver Secondary with a Big Game

As we mentioned before, Derek Carr is one of the brightest young stars in the NFL. Oakland needs him to perform against the Broncos’ secondary and that is exactly what he will do. Carr will throw for 300 yards and three touchdowns, which is an absolute monstrous performance when going up a defense like Denver’s.

Devontae Booker Totals 120 Yards, Two Touchdowns

After C.J. Anderson went down with an injury, Devontae Booker has picked up the slack extremely well. He will continue his impressive play with 120 total yards to go along with two touchdowns. Booker is a star in the making, and the Broncos will see more of that potential this week.

Oakland Intercepts Trevor Siemian Three Times

Trevor Siemian has had an up-and-down season thus far, but he will be down this week. Oakland will force him to throw at least three interceptions. Siemian has a lot of potential, but this won’t be the week that he showcases that potential for the Broncos.

Denver Sacks Derek Carr at Least Six Times

If the Broncos are going to rebound from Siemian throwing three interceptions, their defense will have to make some plays as well. Denver will rise to the challenge by sacking Derek Carr at least six times throughout the course of the game. There is no question that the Broncos’ defense is capable of those numbers, although it is very hard to carry out on the field.

The Oakland Raiders Pull Out a Hard-Fought Victory

Don’t be surprised if this game ends up going to overtime between two of the best teams in the AFC. While it is going to be a great game, the Raiders are going to get the job done and pull out a hard-fought win. Denver will not be able to overcome their turnovers and will end up dropping to 6-3, while the Raiders move to 7-2 on the season.

Expect to see this game end up being one of the best of the week. Carr going up against the Broncos’ defense is reason enough to tune in. Make sure you don’t miss this game on Sunday evening.
