Angelina Jolie Filed For Full Custody Out Of Fear Her Kids Would Be Placed Into Foster Care?

Did Angelina Jolie leave Brad Pitt after being backed into a corner?

According to a Life & Style source, Angelina Jolie filed for divorce and sole physical custody of her and Pitt’s children because “if she didn’t, she was terrified she could lose her kids.”

Angelina Jolie filed for divorce on September 19 after two years of marriage, and in the weeks that followed, news of a child abuse investigation began to swirl. As reports explained, the Los Angeles County’s Department of Children and Family Services began investigating the 52-year-old actor after he was accused of getting physical with his son Maddox, 15, while on a private plane flying from France to their home in Los Angeles.

Although Jolie filed for divorce days after the alleged incident, she was first informed by social workers that if there was cause to believe that her six kids were in danger while under the same roof as Pitt, they “could be placed with relatives or even in foster care.”

“[Angelina Jolie] wasn’t willing to risk it, so she filed for divorce and sole physical custody on September 19,” the magazine revealed, adding that the 41-year-old actress was also “concerned about what the investigation might uncover about her.”

According to a Gossip Cop report on November 3, insiders “agree that [Angelina Jolie] was going to do whatever was needed to make sure the children… stayed with her,” the Life & Style source explained.

While there has been no evidence of Pitt’s alleged incident with Maddox, nor has there been proof of child abuse with any of his and Jolie’s other children, the Los Angeles County’s Department of Children and Family Services’ investigation against him has continued.

Because of the ongoing investigation, Angelina Jolie has maintained sole physical custody of the kids, Maddox, 15, Pax, 12, Zahara, 11, Shiloh, 10, and Vivienne and Knox, 8.

Following the release of Life & Style’s report, a source close to Angelina Jolie assured Gossip Cop, “She did not fear they would be placed in foster care or with relatives.”

Although it is unknown when the Brad Pitt investigation will conclude, the actor is currently being kept away from his kids, aside from a couple of supervised visits, and a couple of his children are said to be quite upset about his absence. In fact, according to a recent report, both Pax and Shiloh have informed Angelina Jolie that they would prefer to live full-time with Pitt.

“Recently, Pax and Shiloh told Angelina that they’d prefer to live with their father,” a source told OK! Magazine, according to a report earlier this week by Hollywood Life. “Pax and Shiloh have always had a strong bond and both of them have long felt more compatible, emotionally, with Brad. If Pax and Shiloh really want to be with Brad, she’s in an unwinnable situation. How can you claim you’re doing what’s best for the kids when you’re ignoring their stated wishes?”

Angelina Jolie is currently living in Malibu, California, with her and Pitt’s six kids. Meanwhile, Pitt is believed to be spending time alone at their former family home in Hollywood Hills. Earlier this year, Angelina Jolie and her family enjoyed time at the home as they were spotted around Los Angeles together.

In July, just weeks before celebrating their two-year wedding anniversary, Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt were seen treating their twins to a pancake breakfast on their eighth birthday.
