NBA Score: Phoenix Suns Beat Portland Trail Blazers Thanks To Double Clutch Shots By Eric Bledsoe

Clutch shooting is a trait that NBA fans simply love. Eric Bledsoe put that on display, not once, but twice on Wednesday night. Aside from hitting the big shot at the last minute to send the game into overtime, the veteran guard also hit the game-winning shot in the extra period. The Phoenix Suns defeated the Portland Trail Blazers by a score of 118-115, as reported by ESPN.

Portland Trail Blazers starters

The secret is out of the bag when it comes to the Portland Trail Blazers back court. Everyone now knows that they are one of the best guard combinations in the NBA. Though the team lost, it was not for a lack of effort from Damian Lillard and C.J. McCollum. The two combined for 51 points against the Phoenix Suns. The tandem also combined for nine assists and nine rebounds.

Maurice Harkless had a solid game with 13 points and five rebounds.

Mason Plumlee struggled with his shooting, but he contributed with 12 rebounds, four assists, and two blocks. Doing the little things is all that is needed on nights where Damian Lillard and C.J. McCollum are on fire offensively.

Al Farouq Aminu quietly had a solid night as well with eight points, five rebounds, four steals, and a block. This is typical of what the veteran forward normally does. Much of his contributions do not show up on the stat sheets.

Portland Trail Blazers bench

Alan Crabbe, Evan Turner, and Meyers Leonard all broke double digits in scoring. They combined for 37 points off the bench. When the backup players are putting up that many points in addition to Damian Lillard and C.J. McCollum producing big offense, then the Portland Trail Blazers are usually difficult to beat.

Ed Davis did not contribute much to the scoring, but the veteran forward did have six rebounds, two blocks, and a steal.

Phoenix Suns starters

Many consider T.J. Warren to be the forward of the future for the Phoenix Suns. He is already showing glimpses of that. Against Portland, he provided his team with 27 points. Warren also had seven rebounds, two steals, and a block. The position appears to be his as long as he keeps showing improvement. Warren can be a star in the NBA if he can find more consistency.

Eric Bledsoe had 20 points, seven rebounds, and four assists. While those numbers are impressive, many are more focused on the fact that he simply kept hitting game-saving and game-winning shots. These types of moments are how legends are made.

Tyson Chandler might not be as athletic as he used to be, but the 34-year-old center can still put up impressive numbers on some nights. Against the Portland Trail Blazers, he pulled down an amazing 18 rebounds and played good defense.

Star-in-the-making Devin Booker provided some help with 15 points.

Brandon Knight and Alex Len provided a much needed offensive boost off the bench. The tandem combined for 34 points and 10 rebounds. Len was also a force on defense with three blocks. He also hit all six of his free throw attempts.

P.J. Tucker did not do much in terms of scoring, but he did throw in five rebounds and three steals off the bench.

Leandro Barbosa was brought back to the team after leaving the Golden State Warriors in free agency. The veteran guard was a non-factor against the Portland Trail Blazers. Some were hoping that he could provide a scoring punch off the bench like he did when he was with the Warriors. Barbosa is still good for leadership, however.
