Tagg Romney Wanted To ‘Take A Swing’ At Obama For Trash Talking His Dad

Tagg Romney, son of Mitt Romney and dad of six kids himself, had some harsh words for the President after watching his dad get his clock cleaned by Obama in the latest election showdown.

Tagg Romney is one of Mitt’s five sons, and was on hand at yesterday’s debate on the campus of Hofstra University in Hempstead, New York. Much of the nation was riveted as the candidates traded barbs on the economy, Libya, health care and taxes (among other things), and the debate became very heated at parts — with the President and Romney literally seeming to step to each other at the most tense moments of the showdown.

Tagg Romney was not pleased with the way President Barack Obama stood up to his dad (a man we may speculate Tagg is not used to seeing bested or even spoken back to given his tenure at the helm of Bain and political career), and the Romney kid had something to say about it.

The report of Tagg Romney’s alleged itchy fists at the debate comes via the Daily Kos, and the blog quotes Tagg in a post-debate interview:

“Host: ‘I wanna ask something I know a lot of people want to know. What is it like for you to hear the President of the United States call your Dad a liar?’

“Tagg: ‘You know, ah, rush down to the debate stage and take a swing at him.But you know you can’t do that because, well, first there’s a lot of secret service agents between you and him…'”

The Daily Kos’ Tagg Romney quote comes from an MP3 file that you can listen to here — no word from the Romney camp on its veracity or comment on its content.
