New York Giants Vs. Philadelphia Eagles: Bold Predictions For NFL Week 9

The New York Giants are set to renew their NFC East division rivalry this week against the Philadephia Eagles in NFL Week 9 action. It is a game that has a lot riding on it for both teams. Playoff implications could very well end up being on the line for both teams when taking a look at the playoff picture.

Eli Manning and the Giants have been extremely inconsistent this season. They hold a 4-3 record at this point in the season. It is going to be interesting to see how they play this week against a division rival.

Philadelphia has been extremely surprised by the play that they have seen from rookie quarterback Carson Wentz. Some media members criticized them for making him the No. 2 overall pick in the 2016 NFL Draft, but he has proved those critics wrong. Wentz has led the Eagles to a 4-3 record and has a lot of room for improvement, which is a scary thought for opposing defensive coordinators.

Needless to say, this is must-watch football for any fan looking to see an entertaining game. Both teams are going to put up numbers, and they will have a bit extra on the line with the game being a rivalry.

All of that being said, what bold predictions can be made for this week’s Giants vs. Eagles game?

Odell Beckham Jr. Racks Up 125 Yards, Two Touchdowns

New York needs their superstar wide receiver to get his head on straight and have a big game. He will respond well to the criticism this week with a 125-yard receiving game to go along with two touchdowns. Beckham is without question one of the top wide receivers in the NFL, and it is time to start proving it.

Carson Wentz Will Struggle Mightily Against the Giants’ Defense

While he has had a great rookie season thus far, Carson Wentz will struggle mightily against the Giants’ defense this week. Case Keenum threw four interceptions a couple weeks ago against a rejuvenized New York defense. Wentz won’t throw four interceptions, but he is not going to have that big of a game.

New York Shuts Down the Philadelphia Running Game

Ryan Mathews has not gotten the job done for the Eagles on the ground this season. He has been a big disappointment, to say the least. New York will continue shutting down the Philadelphia running game this week, no matter who ends up in the backfield.

Philadelphia Will Force Three Turnovers

Even though we are not predicting the Eagles’ offense to have a big game, their defense will help keep them in it. They will force at least three turnovers throughout the course of the game. Philadelphia has one of the most underrated defenses in the league and that will show this week once again.

New York Will Edge Out the Eagles in Overtime

This game is going to come down to the wire, but the Giants will end up winning in overtime. Both teams are going to come out and play aggressive football, with big mistakes being made on both sides. That being said, the Giants will make the plays down the stretch of the game needed to win.

Expect to see this game go to overtime, although Manning and company could pull out a win on the last drive of the game. Philadelphia is going to put up a tough fight, but New York will have just enough to win the game.
