Gwen Stefani And Blake Shelton Have Put Their Wedding Plans On Hold [Report]

Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton have reportedly decided against getting married later this year.

Although the couple never actually confirmed plans to tie the knot, rumors had been swirling about a Christmas wedding for the past several weeks. Now, however, a source has confirmed that Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton won’t be getting married as soon as previously thought.

“[Gwen Stefani]’s friends kept telling her to slow down and not rush into things,” an insider told In Touch Weekly magazine on November 2. “So she and Blake decided to take their advice.”

Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton began dating one another at the end of last year after parting ways with their former spouses, Gavin Rossdale and Miranda Lambert, respectively. Since then, they have been facing ongoing rumors regarding when and where they would tie the knot.

Although Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton aren’t rushing down the aisle, their decision to postpone their wedding hasn’t put a damper on their relationship. Instead, the delay has given Stefani, 47, and Shelton, 40, more time to plan their allegedly upcoming dream ceremony and their dream honeymoon.

“[Gwen Stefani] would love to go somewhere tropical like Tahiti or Hawaii,” the insider said.

Gwen Stefani and Gavin Rossdale ended their relationship in August of last year after 13 years of marriage. They had three children together; Kingston, 10, Zuma, 8, and Apollo, 2. Meanwhile, Shelton has not yet welcomed any children of his own despite being married twice.

During a recent interview with Glamour magazine, Gwen Stefani opened up about her failed marriage to Rossdale and admitted to feeling embarrassed about the end of the romance.

“The intention of being married is the vow, right? You want to put everything into it to make it a success. And all I had to look at was the huge success of my parents: They just had their fiftieth anniversary,” she explained, according to a report by Entertainment Tonight.

“I had to work really hard at marriage, all the time, like everybody, but ours was extra hard,” Gwen Stefani continued. “When you add that we’re from different countries, both of us being in music, and celebrity… [Marriage] was the one thing I didn’t want to fail at. People can say whatever they want to about me, and I don’t get too affected. But I didn’t want them to think I was a failure. There’s nothing weird about how I felt.”

Back in August, a source claimed Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton were planning to announce their engagement in September and planning to get married in December.

“They’re planning a December wedding at Blake’s ranch in Oklahoma because Gwen and the boys love it there and it will give them a lot of privacy,” an insider told Life & Style magazine at the time.

However, September came and went, and Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton hadn’t announced their engagement nor had they spoken at all about their potential plans to get married. Instead, the source continued, they were busy hammering out the details of their prenuptial agreement.

“The prenup will dictate that their earnings remain separate,” an insider said of Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton’s combined $225 million fortune.

While Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton may not be planning to get married in the near future, they will soon return to their roles as coaches of The Voice for the series’ upcoming 12th season, which premieres on NBC next spring.
