Miley Cyrus Is ‘Most Devoted Coach’ On ‘The Voice’: Why Will Gwen Stefani Replace Her?

When news first broke that Miley Cyrus was slipping into one of those enormous chairs on The Voice, fans of the show weren’t sure how the 23-year-old “Wrecking Ball” singer’s style would mesh with seasoned coaches Adam Levine, 37, and Blake Shelton, 40. Speculation also swirled about whether Miley could take on the tasks of coaching other singers and help them succeed on the singing competition. But now Cyrus is being praised as the “most devoted coach” in the history of The Voice, with those compliments coming in the wake of a bombshell announcement that Miley will be replaced next season by Blake’s girlfriend Gwen Stefani.

An insider on The Voice told Us Weekly that Cyrus is “the show’s most devoted coach ever.” From selecting her contestants’ attire to attending dress rehearsals, Miley is intensely involved in doing all that she can to help her team score, shared the source.

“[Miley helps choose] the hair, makeup and wardrobe for her team, and she goes to all the dress rehearsals when she’s not even paid to be there. Nobody else does that!”

In addition to giving freely of her time to help her team, Cyrus gives her heart to her contestants.

“She cries when she has to eliminate people,” revealed the insider. “She’s even close to the contestants’ family members now.”

Miley has shown her emotional investment on The Voice, unable to hide her tears when a pair of sisters had to exit after their duet “I Won’t Give Up.”

“Oh, God, here I go!” admitted a tearful Cyrus.

But despite that obvious devotion to her team, Miley is getting the boot at the end of this season of The Voice. As Cyrus slides out of her coach chair, Shelton’s girlfriend, Gwen Stefani, slips in. Us‘ insider revealed the reason for the game of musical chairs.

“Gwen wants to come back to the show to be with Blake more. He can’t stop gushing about her.”

The management team on The Voice shared their enthusiasm for Stefani’s return.

Extra noted that Cyrus will reclaim her chair on The Voice during Season 13, while Gwen will use her experience from coaching during seasons seven and nine to serve as a coach during Season 12. The Voice has been renewed through Season 13.

“We can’t wait to experience the unique chemistry and energy Gwen, Alicia, Blake and Adam will bring to season 12,” declared Paul Telegdy, President of Alternative and Reality Group, NBC Entertainment. “With Miley returning for season 13, we’re truly ecstatic about the unmatched musical know-how and talent coming together in our coming seasons.”

Although Us Weekly‘s insider hinted that Blake Shelton’s influence may have played a role in getting his girlfriend Gwen to replace Miley, The Voice has frequently shaken up the blend of coaches. Both Blake and his pal Adam Levine have remained, but changing the coaches in the other chairs has been routine “since the program debuted its fourth season,” pointed out the Christian Science Monitor.

Views on whether it’s beneficial to the show vary, noted the media outlet. Some view it as a way to bring something new to The Voice after so many years, while others feel that because the coaches often have demands on their schedules, such as tours or studio time, swapping out coaches provides the executives with a way to allow these music professionals to appear on The Voice and handle other obligations.

What do you think? Do you like the way that The Voice swaps out coaches? Are you looking forward to seeing Gwen Stefani rather than Miley Cyrus, or do you want the show to feature the same coaches? Post your comments below.
