Meghan Markle Takes Britishness Test And Struggles

Rumours suggest, as reported by the Daily Mail, that Prince Harry may have fallen for American actress, Meghan Markle. In fact, the relationship appears so serious that speculators believe an engagement might even be on the horizon.

While the idea that the two may end up together isn’t necessarily a shock, a recent quiz suggests that Markle may need to spend more time learning about British culture if she is to become a member of the royal family.

“Britishisms” Quiz

Earlier in 2016, Markle was quizzed regarding a variety of cultural norms affectionately called “Britishisms.” Out of 15 questions, covering topics from Vegemite versus Marmite and England’s national animal, Markle only managed to answer four correctly.

The quiz was given while Markle was in Britain promoting the television show Suits, currently in its sixth season.

While the star admitted defeat with her comment following the exam, stating, “I think I lost. I think I was the worst at this game,” she may need to expand her knowledge if she is about to become a princess.

Relationship Unconfirmed

Neither Prince Harry nor Markle has confirmed the relationship, though a source state that Prince Harry is “happier than he has been for many years,” and that, “Meghan has come along at the right time,” based on a report from the Sunday Express, a UK news publication.

It is believed the relationship has been kept under wraps to avoid “[scaring] Meghan off.” The concern is likely related to the pressures associated with being a royal as well as the increased press interest in anyone believed to be in a relationship with Prince Harry.

However, the source admits that it may be too early to say how long the relationship will last, but that the relationship continues to move forward.

Additional evidence of a possible relationship resulted from a selfie Markle posted during a trip to the English countryside. Beaded bracelets appeared in the photo that appeared to be similar to those known to be worn by Prince Harry. This revelation increased speculation about the relationship, with some who saw the photo assuming they were a gift from the Prince. The bracelets had made a previous appearance last September, again while traveling in England.

It is possible that Prince Harry and Markle met when he was promoting the Invictus Fames for disabled Servicemen in Toronto, Canada. Though Markle was born in Los Angeles, she lives in Toronto currently since Suits is filmed in the city.

Who is Meghan Markle?

Markle was born on August 4, 1981, in Los Angeles, California. She is of mixed descent, with an African-American mother and Caucasian father of Dutch and Irish ancestry. Her father, Thomas W. Markle, was best known as the director of photography on the popular television show Married with Children.

An alumni of Northwestern University, she followed up her degree in Theatre and International Relations by accepting a position at the U.S. Embassy in Buenos Aires, Argentina. In 2011, Markle married Trevor Engelson, a notable film producer, though they later divorced in 2014 after only 20 months.

Markle shares Prince Harry’s passion for humanitarian work. She visited Africa in 2015 as an advocate for U.N. Women and appeared in Rwanda as a World Vision Global Ambassador. Prince Harry was also in Africa this past year as part of the 500 Elephants initiative.

Prince Harry has also been active throughout Europe, including assisting with the opening of a police precinct and a visit to a recording studio. He also has a pending trip to the Caribbean in November where he will act as a representative of the Queen in seven nations.

Prince Harry’s most recent high-profile relationships include Chelsy Davy and Cressida Jones.
