‘Harry Potter’: Hot Butterbeer Comes To The Three Broomsticks

The Harry Potter trio have always loved sneaking a mug of butterbeer from Hogsmeade. Now, the wizarding world, too, can enjoy a hot cup of butterbeer especially made for the colder seasons.

Butterbeer has become one of the most popular references in the Harry Potter universe that dozens of recipes have become available to us, thanks to the internet, and all the self-respecting Harry Potter-themed shops will have this on their menus. Even Starbucks has its own Butterbeer Frappuccino listed on its secret menu.

In Harry Potter canon, butterbeer has always been regarded as a slightly alcoholic drink since it can even get the house elves drunk. Butterbeer is known to be sold in Hog’s Head, The Three Broomsticks, and Leaky Cauldron, although we can all agree with the Harry Potter characters that butterbeer from Madam Rosmerta’s The Three Broomsticks will always be the best.

And if you’ve been (or have always dreamed of going) to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Studios Hollywood, then you would know that you won’t dare miss enjoying a mug-full of butterbeer from The Three Broomsticks or Hog’s Head Pub. Butterbeer at the Wizarding World of Harry Potter though are alcohol-free so don’t push your luck.

Butterbeer at the Wizarding World of Harry Potter has always been served traditional or frozen. Now, Harry Potter fans can go gaga over this drink even in the colder seasons as the Wizarding World of Harry Potter is introducing hot butterbeer to the menus at The Three Broomsticks and Hog’s Head Pub.

Universal Studios Hollywood talks about the new hot butterbeer:

Like its traditional and frozen counterparts, hot butterbeer is reminiscent of butterscotch and shortbread that’s been perfectly fine-tuned as a Hogsmeade treat.

The Three Broomsticks, an aged rustic tavern, caters to guests with an array of authentic British breakfast, lunchtime, and dinner fare while they are seated at custom-made wooden tables, chairs, and benches in a warm and inviting atmosphere inspired by the Harry Potter books and films.

Gathering inspiration from historic British taverns, the adjoining Hog’s Head pub features original draught beers and spirits created exclusively for the land, including Hog’s Head Brew, Dragon’s Scale, Wizard’s Brew, and Fire Whiskey. Also available are Pumpkin Fizz and Gilly Water and the three Butterbeer choices: traditional, frozen, and hot.

Apparently, hot butterbeer has been on the menu over at the Universal Studios Florida resort for a couple of years already, Slashfilm reports. Park visitors comment that hot butterbeer has that “butterscotch and shortbread flavor but also creamy and caramel-rich, with a definite coffee-free latte vibe.” With a butterbeer mustache to go with your first sip, it’s definitely a novelty.

In fact, it looks like Harry Potter fans can’t get enough of the hot butterbeer that park visitors are grumbling that The Three Broomsticks and Hog’s Head pub have sold out on hot butterbeer on the first day.

Hot butterbeer is now available starting afternoons at the Wizarding World of Harry Potter at the Universal Studios Hollywood. Enjoy a hot butterbeer with a nice view of the castle or with British treats Butterbeer Potted Cream and Sticky Toffee Pudding, also available at The Three Broomsticks.

The Wizarding World of Harry Potter at the Universal Studios Hollywood features the Hogsmeade village straight from the Harry Potter books and movies, plus exciting Harry Potter-themed rides such as the Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey and Flight of the Hippogriff.
