96-Year-Old Dad Fathers Another Child

Ramajit Raghav is a 96-year-old dad with a newborn child.

According to ABC, Raghav became the world’s oldest new dad in 2010 when he fathered a son at the age of 94 with his 52-year-old wife. Raghav beat his record earlier this month when his wife Shakuntala Devi gave birth to a healthy boy on October 5.

The Times of India reports that Raghav was celibate for most of his life, but, about 10 years ago, he met Shakuntala and decided that he wanted to start a family.

Raghav said:

“After staying together, we decided to extend our family and aspired for two sons. With God’s grace, our wish has been fulfilled.”

The 96-year-old dad said that he has a healthy sex drive and didn’t use any performance enhancers to have his baby boy. Raghav said that he’s maintained his vivacity due to his active lifestyle and vegetarian diet.

Raghav added:

 ”I have led a very simple life. I didn’t marry for long and followed a strict diet. I’ve taken milk, butter and fruits everyday since my childhood. We are absolutely delighted to have another member in the family. It’s a great feeling for both of us. I didn’t take any performance enhancers … I just prayed to go to complete my family, either a boy or a girl.”

Raghav said that he doesn’t plan on having anymore children. The 96-year-old new dad said that his wife will have a tubectomy so that they don’t have any more kids.

Raghav said:

 ”My wife will undergo a tubectomy operation this year. We aren’t planning more children, two are more than enough and I have limited financial resources, which can only sustain their needs. I want to send them to school and wish to see them lead a respectable life.”

    Who will raise this child when he dies? WOW just think about all the history h has seen and can pass it on to his child. I hope he has a great memory. congrads to him.

    His wife was 52! Doesn't she get any credit? And why is she having a tubal ligation instead of him getting a vasectomy (which is much less invasive & complicated)?
