UPDATED: Apple’s “It’s Only Rock and Roll” event underway

Information is starting to filter in from the lucky bloggers who are liveblogging the Apple event today.

We’re watching out for any exciting developments. So far, we’ve heard about:

  • A Genius DJ is going to create 12-song mixes from your iTunes library. Spiffy;
  • App syncing, so you can manage apps in iTunes.;
  • “Home sharing,” something that allows you to do more with content among 5 computers;
  • Genius for apps;
  • Ringtones priced at $1.29.

Updates!

  • Cool, looks like the app store is getting better functionality. It’s about damn time, Jobs;
  • More on home sharing. I can’t wait to see what that’s completely about;
  • Lyrics in iTunes, less sketchy lyric site visits can only be a good thing;
  • iTunes 9 available today!
  • Marketshare: iPod’s 73.8%, Sandisk 7.2%, and Microsoft 1%. The rest is other companies (duh.) Suck it, Microsoft.

More updates!

  • Stuff about games and stacking up to the Nintendo DS. I like some games, but am I the only person who thinks “Tap Tap Revenge” sucks? WordJong pees on it from a height. FROM a HEIGHT.
  • Please Apple, don’t encourage people to share their “Riddim Ribbon” remixes with me.
  • First shooter “space Marine” game. That sounds… kinda awesome.
  • Some sports games. Bleh. Boy stuff.

Pricing stuff and iPods!

  • iPod Touch dropping to $199 for 8GB;
  • 32GB will be $299 and 64GB will be $399;
  • 32GB and 64GB versions will run a newer processor and be 50% faster;
  • $249 will now get you a 160GB iPod Classic, an extra 40GB of space;
  • Shuffles: $59 for a 2GB, $79 for a 4GB and $99 for a special edition 4GB

Uh-oh Flip:

  • $149 gets you an 8GB Nano with video compared to 4GB on the Flip.
  • Nano’s getting voiceover, voice recorder, genius mix, a pedometer that syncs with Nike+ and FM radio.
  • They’ll be a 16GB version for $179. Cool. And the colors will be like, prettier or something because the “aluminum” is “anodized.”

Oh my God. They’re making those poor people listen to Norah Jones. Live.

And it’s over! Expect more in-depth coverage on the new stuff we just heard about this second.
