‘Overwatch’: Sombra ARG Characters Artwork Released In Reddit Forums Leak During Blizzcon World Cup Schedule For 2016 [Video]

A new challenger is entering the fray, and we may have gotten a first look at what she looks like.

Overwatch has kicked its hype into a new gear, and it appears that Blizzcon is the culprit. New character Sombra has been teased for quite some time. We’ve seen in-game footage that suggests she would be a new character. We’ve even seen portions of maps that give little detail on how she will be included.

According to a report by Express, artwork of Sombra has been leaked at Blizzcon. The image features the female character, and some don’t appear to be surprised. The hype surrounding the new character is palpable, and Blizzard will certainly be bringing out more information as time goes on. It’s been a while since a character has stirred the ranks of Overwatch. There have been nerfs and buffs all around for the characters, and one can only wonder just how strong Sombra will be.

Overwatch has become quite competitive, and the meta could change if Sombra proves to be effective. The leak is accompanied by more hints at Sombra.

“The moment has come. The emails have exposed the truth about Portero. The uprising has started and the people of Mexico is with us. It is the moment to Strike. We will take over his 11/1 event and we will strike him. I need you to do one thing.

“Get access to the Security Chief Email and search for a way to help me with the attack. He might contact Portero soon. I have changed his password to: d0r*NuLw9.”

As you can see, the story behind Sombra in Overwatch appears to be big. We’ve seen information on her abilities and skills, leading us to believe that she could possibly be the new overpowered character in the game. There’s been the likes of McCree and Mercy, though recent Blizzard changes have seen them toned down to an acceptable degree.

In a report by VG247, you can take a look at Sombra in Overwatch, utilizing her various hacking skills to overcome opponents and set traps. Whether she’ll be a pure DPS (damage per second) build or be able to play full support will depend on player preference. Sombra’s addition to the roster could mean a new way to play for those who participate in Overwatch events, as well as those who will most certainly be taking advantage of her newness to mix up the game when she drops.

Will we see an overabundance of Sombra during the game’s initial matches when she is released? Most likely. This isn’t the first time that a trend like this has gone on, however. Ana is also a recent addition to Overwatch, and there are most likely tweaks from Blizzard ready to satisfy fan feedback. If you’re not familiar with the amount of patch work that has gone into the game, inquiry will show that characters have risen and dropped considerably in the ranks since the base game’s release.

Ultimately, Sombra will be breathing further life to BlizzCon and Overwatch. Whether or not she will remain as popular as her debut remains to be seen, but it’s hopeful that character variety will make for interesting matches. Now that the first person shooter has reached such a competitive level, what will Blizzard do to further character usage so that older choices don’t become stagnant? The amount of patches suggest that we’ll be seeing far more from the developers, but the main focus appears to be on Sombra and how players will contribute to her existence in Overwatch.
