‘Bachelorette’ Emily Maynard And Jef Holm End Engagement

The Bachelorette star Emily Maynard and fiance Jef Holm have officially ended their engagement, proving that Twitter profile pictures and Facebook status updates don’t always lie.

After much speculation surrounding Maynard and Holm’s relationship, the couple confirmed on Tuesday that their engagement is over, reports E! Online. Maynard released a statement, saying:

“I am sorry to tell you that Jef and I have, indeed, parted ways. It was a very difficult and heartbreaking decision.”

Emily Maynard and Jef Holm met on the most recent season of The Bachelorette and had reportedly been spending more and more time apart, although they were spotted together at a Carolina Panthers game two weeks ago. Maynard also stated:

“As you know, at first I wasn’t sure that I should even be The Bachelorette… but I am a hopeless romantic and I do believe in the show. I have no regrets because I did find love and shared an incredible journey with a really special person—and you know what, we tried our best because the love between us was so real.”

USA Today notes that Jef Holm also spoke about his break up with Emily Maynard, saying that it “breaks my heart, but we have decided to break up.” Holm added:

“I’ve never loved someone so much in my whole life, Emily is the best person and mom I have ever met. She opened up her world to me and I fell in love with her, [her daughter] Ricki, her family and the Hendricks.”

Buzz about the couple’s split started just a month after they became engaged in July. In August, news outlets began reporting that there was trouble during their summer vacation when Maynard reportedly texted Oakland Raiders quarterback Matt Leinert.

This past weekend, the buzz began again, and this time Emily Maynard and Jef Holm confirmed the end of their engagement.
