If you are going to be one of the 230,480 new invasive breast cancer cases that will be diagnosed each year in the United States, there may be a way to find out if you have the disease that you never heard of before.  First Warning Systems’ new bra has shown that it can detect breast abnormalities in women with 90% and higher accuracy according to SmartPlanet.

If the company’s trial keeps showing this level of success the company will start marketing the bra in Europe later this year and in the U.S. in 2014.  It is expected to retail for around $1,000.

Currently breast cancer diagnostics have between a 50 and 60% false positive rating making women incur a ridiculous amount of stress as they head to the Oncologist for an invasive biopsy.  The First Warning System’s bra is equipped with extremely sensitive sensors which can detect miniscule changes in the temperature of breast tissue.  The bra is worn close to the skin for the testing period and then the data is sent over the internet to be analyzed by sophisticated algorithms and the results sent to the user’s personal device.
