‘Sweet Stranger And Me’- Everything You Need To Know About The K-Drama That Replaced Park Bo Gum’s ‘Moonlight Drawn By Clouds’

Sweet Stranger And Me is a new k-drama on KBS that has some big shoes to fill. The drama series has replaced Moonlight Drawn By Clouds (Love In The Moonlight), Park Bo Gum’s hit period drama series that garnered over 20 percent of viewership in its timeslot.

So of course, the producers of Sweet Stranger And Me (The Man Living In Our House) are more than likely looking for the show to have similar success.

What Sweet Stranger And Me is about

As Itech Post reports, Sweet Stranger follows the story of a 30-something-year-old flight attendant who comes home drunk one night only to find a mysterious stranger living in her home. The young man turns out to be her dead mother’s husband who just happens to be three years younger than the show’s lead female character.

The drama series stars Soo Ae who plays the stewardess, Hong Na-Ri, Kim Young Kwang, Lee Soo Hyuk, and Jo Bo Ah

Though the plot seems really unrealistic, director Kim Jung-min told Yon Hap News that he thinks the drama will appeal to a lot of different women.

“Women like men who are cute and mischievous but also reliable like a father. Someone who will always be on their ‘side,'” he said during a press conference ahead of the show’s premiere. “This character has both qualities, which I think will appeal (to women).”

For lead actress Soo Ae, this is her first romantic comedy in nine years. She told Yon Hap that she’s relishing the opportunity to do something different.

“In my previous films and dramas, I played some heavy roles so I thought I’d like to play a lighter character at this point,” she said. “I’m discovering sides of me I didn’t know and enjoying the filming.”

As Itech Post reports, Soo Ae also commented on the premise of being romantically involved with a man younger than herself like her character does on Sweet Stranger.

“It is a far cry from reality, but if I were to have a romance with a man three years my junior, I feel like that would be a cool thing.”

The Ratings So Far

According to Itech Post, Sweet Stranger and Me got 9.5 percent of the viewership in its time slot when it premiered on Oct 24. Those ratings surged to 10.5 percent the next day when the next episode aired. Not a bad start for a show that’s following in the footsteps of Moonlight Drawn By Clouds.

Sweet Stranger And Me airs on KBS 2 on Monday and Tuesday.
