‘Archie’ And The Riverdale Gang Meet ‘Glee’ Cast In New Issue

Archie and the Riverdale gang have been doing pop culture crossovers for years. Recently, the gang met KISS in the Archie Meets KISS crossover, and now it looks like the gang is going to get the McKinley High treatment as they’re set to meet the cast of Glee.

Back in July, it was announced that the two teen entities would crossover with a Glee arc written by TV writer Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa. Aguirre-Sacasa is known for his work on Spider-Man Turn Off The Dark and comics Fantastic Four, and he is currently a staff writer for Glee. Even though the issue appropriately titled Archie Meets Glee won’t be available in stores until early 2013, the cover has been revealed, and it looks as though the Glee cast has been drawn and then photoshopped for extra measure. The cover features regular Gleeks Puck, Brittany, Finn, Rachel, Kurt, and, of course, everyone’s favorite villain, Sue.

Archie Comics Co-CEO Jon Goldwater told Comic Book Resources about the decision for the Glee and Archie crossover:

“If you go back to the beginnings of modern music, if you will, with Elvis and moving forward with the Beatles and [Bob] Dylan – they established culturally the tone of what’s going on in the country. That’s what I’ve been trying to establish in Riverdale. The characters stay the same, but Riverdale changes. And as musicians change in the culture, they can seamlessly integrate into comic books.”

You can pick you your copy of Archie Meets Glee on February 27. Will you be picking up Archie Meets Glee?
