‘Married At First Sight’ Season 4 Spoilers: Sonia Doesn’t ‘Need’ Nick, Asks For A Divorce Six Months Later?

The final episode of Married At First Sight Season 4 airs Tuesday, Nov. 1, on FYI. Six months after Decision Day, the experts sat down with MAFS couples Nick Pendergrast and Sonia Granados, and Tom Wilson and Lillian Vilchez to see if the couples are still together. Fans of Married At First Sight could recall that Nick and Sonia, and Tom and Lillian all decided to stay married after the six-week social experiment was over.

Based on the sneak peek clip for episode 15, “After the Decision,” it seems like both Nick and Sonia, and Tom and Lillian have broken up since we last saw them. Nick, for one, was no longer wearing his wedding ring. Several Married at First Sight fans thought it was a big deal considering he did not remove his wedding ring even when Sonia moved out of the house. As for Sonia, the 33-year-old social worker seemed shaken up talking to the experts.

“I don’t need him or want him,” she said.

Days leading to the “Till Death Do Us Part” episode, Sonia Granados admitted that she went back and forth with her decision. Although she eventually moved back with Nick Pendergrast during the final week of Married At First Sight Season 4, Sonia explained that she still has doubts about giving Nick a second chance.

Nick, on the other hand, seemed determined to make their marriage work until the very end. The 32-year-old vacation rental manager even told his friends that he’s becoming more and more attracted to Sonia as he gets to know her. While they had quite a few problems at first, Nick revealed that he can definitely see a future with Sonia, far longer than the six weeks they’ve had.

When Decision Day came, Nick was the first one to say that he wanted to stay married to Sonia. Although he felt like he has not yet assumed 100 percent of his husband duties, he hoped that Sonia would continue to give him a chance to prove himself. Sonia later revealed that she wanted to stay married to Nick as well.

“We’ve had a lot of ups and downs. I have moved back in but there’s just a lot of things that lead me not to trust you. But I feel like I’d like to stay married to you,” she told Nick.

Married At First Sight Season 4 expert Dr. Pepper Schwartz was clearly thrilled with Nick and Sonia’s decision. The sex and relationship expert believed that the two are a perfect match for each other.

“I am full of hope for both of them. I think they have what it takes to create a marriage that they can be proud of and they can be happy,” Dr. Pepper said.

Although it seemed like Nick wanted to give up on his marriage with Sonia in the beginning, he later revealed that he was happy that the MAFS experts matched them together. He also had no problems with starting from scratch, building a friendship first before getting intimate again.

“It’s almost like a dream come true because Sonia is amazing. She’s sweet and nice. It’s just like exciting in general to see what’s gonna happen and I am happy. I am hoping that we stay married,” Nick said.

For her part, Sonia was also thankful that the Married At First Sight Season 4 experts matched her with Nick. She has always been attracted to her husband and as they get to know more about each other, she is starting to see more of his positive traits, qualities that she is looking for in a husband.

“Going through this process, I realized that I got lucky. I found the man of my dreams. I hope for everlasting love, for sincere love, friendship love. I want us to embrace each other’s families. I want to be happy and have fun. I hope this works out for the best for both of us,” she told the cameras.
