Rihanna: Why She Didn’t Attend Drake Birthday Party Post-Split Revealed?

Rihanna did not attend Drake’s recent 30th birthday party celebration in West Hollywood, but sources say that it wasn’t an intentional decision by the “Work” singer.

The couple, who reportedly broke up earlier this month, as revealed by Us Weekly, has still been in contact with one another since the news broke that they were no longer an item. With fans knowing that the duo is still cool with one another, why was Rihanna absent from the bash?

According to Us Weekly, as cited by Hollywood Life, Rihanna has been busy shooting the all-female version of the forthcoming Ocean’s Eight out in New York — there was no way she could’ve canceled shooting scenes for the film just to attend a birthday party and Drake understood.

After all, Rihanna is a professional and would always put business before partying. The twosome reportedly communicated beforehand, and rumor has it that Rihanna even explained the situation to Drake weeks prior to the bash since she was already aware of the scheduling clash.

“He understood,” an insider revealed. “They’re still close. She’s still mad at him for many reasons, mainly because he’s such jerk who won’t commit and wants everything his way. But they are talking. She hit him up and they’re planning to celebrate.”

Rihanna reportedly became frustrated with Drake, whom she started seeing again earlier this year, allegedly complaining that the rapper did not want to settle down, and that’s despite the fact that he openly professed his love for Rihanna at the VMAs over the summer.

Fans will recall the rapper stressing how Rihanna was the only girl Drake has ever truly loved, but with insiders claiming that the Canadian-born star doesn’t seem to be ready to get married and have children. Fans have gotten the impression that Drake is sending his on-again, off-again beau mixed signals.

There’s no denying that Rihanna wants to have children and get married, having often discussed the topic on social media. Her siblings have had children of their own, and they happen to be much younger than her.

Rihanna believes that she has practically achieved so much in her career that her main priority in the next couple of years should be motherhood and marriage. While she might have planned to start a family with Drake, it is becoming apparent that the rapper isn’t ready for such a drastic step just yet.

The duo has been seeing one another since 2009, and the number of times they have broken up and gotten back together is countless at this point, but there’s definitely a lot of love between them.

It just so happens that Rihanna and Drake both want different things from another. Should they never find themselves settling down and getting old together, the twosome will continue to support each other and remain close friends.

Rihanna has been strongly hinting at the supposed fact that she’s ready to become a mother, and since she’s nearing the age of 30, she most definitely doesn’t want to hold on to a relationship that’s not going to proceed with the things she sees in her future.

Drake and Rihanna reportedly linked up back in January, when they released their hit song “Work,” selling over 4 million records worldwide in a matter of months. The song’s success would lead to another collaboration on Drake’s album, titled “Too Good,” selling another 2 million copies.

What do you make of Rihanna still being friends with Drake after their split this month?
