Donald Trump Is Happy, But Will The FBI’s Investigation Into Hillary Clinton’s Emails Factor Into The Presidential Race?

Donald Trump has Hillary Clinton right where he wants her, or vice-versa. With the latest news to come out about Hillary Clinton, Donald Trump feels as if he can be sitting pretty. At least in his mind he does. As the days draw closer to the presidential election on November 8, one thing is certain. Both presidential candidates are closing in on the home stretch of what has been perhaps the most controversial presidential race of all time.

The FBI has decided to renew their investigation into Hillary Clinton’s emails and private server, according to NPR.

Additional emails were discovered after the FBI seized the personal computer of Anthony Weiner, the New York Times reports. It is what was found that relaunched the investigation that has Donald Trump gloating.

For those who have not participated in early voting, knowledge that the FBI is digging into the details of Clinton’s emails and private server cannot be pleasant news. But the question is, will that play a role into whether voters decide to go with Donald Trump or Hillary Clinton?

When speaking to a New Hampshire crowd filled with his supporters, Donald Trump never seemed so elated. Donald Trump stood at the podium proud. Realizing that he may have one-upped Hillary Clinton less than two weeks before the new president of the United States will be announced, Trump actually smiled. That has been a rarity since the burdens of traveling from state to state, in order to campaign, has worn on him.

It did not matter in the wake of the news that Trump’s adversary was facing a second investigation. For the first time since he was nominated as the Republican nominee, Donald Trump had finally put Hillary Clinton in the position where she had to defend herself. The Democratic presidential candidate came across as clueless when discussing the FBI’s latest investigation.

“We don’t know the facts, which is why we are calling on the FBI to release all of the information that it has. Right now, your guess is as good as mine, and I don’t think that’s good enough.”

Hillary Clinton’s suggestion that all of the FBI’s information on her emails and private server be revealed is only fair. Clinton deserves to know what the FBI has on her before she proceeds with her bid to become America’s first woman president.

The problem is that she can ill afford to take any time off to focus on the FBI’s investigation. Clinton has to fend off Donald Trump, who is likely gaining momentum on the presidential race in the wake of the investigation being revisited. She could lose her bid for presidency to Donald Trump if she is not careful.

Right now Donald Trump is happy, but will the news about the investigation matter at the polls?

Yes and no. Expect Trump to get a boost of voters favoring him unless another scandal comes out. But there is a catch. Donald Trump will not convince anyone who was going to vote for Hillary Clinton to change their minds. Trump has to hope that those on the fence will come out and support him.

Those who have already voted did so and were already either pro Donald Trump or pro Hillary Clinton. That leaves those who have not gone to the polls. Many of the voters are still undecided and could be swayed in one direction or another depending on what news comes out next.

As of now, anyone who were undecided could go with Donald Trump based off the latest news of the FBI investigation.

That is not to say that Trump is without controversy. On the contrary. Donald Trump is arguably the most controversial presidential candidate to ever be nominated as the representative from one of the two major political parties. It is a head-scratcher as to why Trump is as close to Clinton in the polls as he is now. Given Donald Trump’s baggage as a presidential candidate, one has to wonder why Hillary Clinton does not have a bigger lead.

People are drawn to Donald Trump, the most polarizing figure to run for president in quite some time. Between now and the November 8 presidential election, it will not matter what Trump has done to alienate voters. His supporters are firmly on his side, flaws and all.

There is a strong chance that many of the voters who were slightly leaning towards Hillary Clinton may be wavering a bit. More news about Clinton’s emails and private servers could have ruined her campaign in its late stages. The issue of mistrust rears its ugly head again.

Donald Trump knows this, which is why he is smiling for a change.

There is some shame to it all. Despite Hillary Clinton being one of the most qualified presidential candidates to ever run for office, she may be in danger of losing to Donald Trump, a man who has never held a public office and has a ton of baggage. The FBI’s revisited investigation comes at a terrible time.
