Catelynn Baltierra Criticized For Calling Herself A ‘Stay At Home Mom’ Despite Depression

Catelynn Baltierra has struggled with depression and anxiety on this season of Teen Mom OG and she even went to rehab in hopes of learning some coping mechanisms when she breaks down when she’s at home in Michigan. This season of Teen Mom OG has been about Catelynn’s struggles and Tyler Baltierra’s criticism of his wife. He just wants her to have some motivation, some goals, and he wants her to lose weight. But whenever he brings it up, Catelynn seems to break down, sleep or cry.

According to a new tweet, Catelynn Baltierra is now revealing that she’s doing better even though she’s still staying at home with her daughter. While Tyler is working on their new home, it sounds like Baltierra has decided to call herself a stay-at-home mother. But even though she’s a mother and at home with her daughter, some Teen Mom fans felt that she was not her only caregiver, as she was dealing with some heavy issues, like depression and anxiety.

“You know what’s funny to me?? How people think being a stay at home mom isn’t a full time job! #GetALife If I can stay home with her I will,” Catelynn tweeted after facing criticism from fans about her decision to stay home with her daughter Nova.

Of course, people are referring to Catelynn Baltierra not having a job or an education. When she started filming Teen Mom, she had talked about going to college and how she wanted to get an education so she could set a great example for her future children. However, Catelynn may have changed her mind after she started filming various reality shows, including Teen Mom, Couples Therapy and now a show about adoption. Maybe the money from the show was more tempting than getting an education. And now that Catelynn is calling herself a stay-at-home mother, people are critical of her comments.

“Usually stay at home moms don’t have a stay at home dad too, you aren’t her only caregiver so not full time for you,” one person wrote to Catelynn Baltierra, pointing out that she should not compare her role to a full-time job considering Tyler is also staying at home most of the time.

Two parents staying at home with her may be a good thing for the baby, but people aren’t convinced that this is a long-term plan for the couple. While Tyler has been very vocal about them getting an education so they can provide for themselves once Teen Mom stops filming and reality TV isn’t an option anymore, it doesn’t’ sound like Catelynn Baltierra is eager to start an education.

“Being a SAHM [Stay-At-Home-Mom] is fine when you’re actually up & cleaning, cooking, taking care of the kid, house, etc. NOT sleeping all day! Being a SAHM is great! So realize that and get up and spend time with your kid instead of sleeping all day & pawning her off. SAHM is fine. But that means actually taking care of the kid and home. NOT giving the kid to others to watch and sleeping,” another person wrote to Catelynn Baltierra, sharing her opinion in several tweets.

This last person does have some valid points about being a stay-at-home mother, especially when it comes to Catelynn sleeping most of the day. But she filmed Teen Mom months ago, and it is possible that she has changed her life around since filming the scenes that fans are currently seeing.
