Tyler Baltierra Thinks He’s Brave: ‘Teen Mom’ Viewers Take Him Down A Notch

Tyler Baltierra has been in the spotlight since he filmed 16 & Pregnant years ago when he was just a teenager and getting ready to give his daughter, Carly, up for adoption. Since then, Tyler and his wife, Catelynn, have been trying to get their lives back on track, as the adoption has clearly rattled him and his wife. For a long time, Baltierra lived with regret, sharing that he thought about what life would be like with a daughter. Tyler knew that they didn’t have the resources to take care of her, but they experienced guilt for giving her up.

According to a new tweet, Tyler Baltierra is now revealing that he feels brave for sharing his story with Teen Mom viewers. Of course, the adoption story has been a huge part of their storyline for years, but more recently, Tyler’s wife is sharing her struggles with postpartum depression, anxiety, and weight gain. But the Baltierra family gets paid to be on television, and some people don’t think he’s brave at all.

“A strong couple that may have their ups and downs but get through whatever life throws at them #strongcouple,” wrote one fan to Tyler, who replied, “We’re just human beings…flawed, selfconscious with weaknesses & struggles. It’s life, we are brave enough to share it with you all.”

While Tyler Baltierra had good intentions when sharing his tweet, some viewers didn’t think that brave was the right word — at all. In fact, they decided to take him down a notch, saying that he was a reality star, not a doctor trying to cure cancer. Plus, “brave” might not be the right word when they have filmed a good handful of reality shows. Clearly, sharing their struggles is something they don’t mind doing.

“Brave? You act like your curing cancer,” one person wrote to Baltierra in hopes of bringing him down from his high horse, while another added, “that is so laughable. They aren’t brave. They are money hungry lazy fame wh*res.”

Even though some people find that Tyler and Catelynn are hungry for fame and may be trying to secure money and savings while Teen Mom lasts, there is one thing that they have managed to do well. By sharing their journey with adoption, young fans are now more aware of how an open adoption works. While they may not have handled it well all the time, they have introduced this option to young mothers.

“Not to be mean but they’re not the best example of a successful open adoption,” one person wrote to Tyler Baltierra after reading that Carly was being kept from them and them making a scene, to which Tyler agreed, writing, “We are definitely NOT the best example, I agree.”

Over the past couple of days, clips from Teen Mom have surfaced, and it sounds like Carly’s adoptive parents are starting to draw the line about when Tyler Baltierra and his wife can see their biological daughter. At first, they wanted to keep the cameras away from their visits, and then they wanted to keep all discussions of Carly away from the show. Now it sounds like the leash is tightening even more.

“Are Carly’s adoptive parents justified in keeping Catelynn and Tyler from seeing her? #TeenMomOG,” asked one Twitter account, referring to their daughter, Carly, who they put up for adoption, to which Tyler replied, “Absolutely agree! They will always be justified…because they are her parents & we are not.”

“We do have an open adoption. They are just making decisions that they think are the best for Carly. Which is exactly what they should do,” he continued.

What do you think of the way Tyler Baltierra is sharing his life? Do you think he’s brave, or do you think they will extend their time in the spotlight for as long as possible?
