‘Destiny’: Xur’s Exotic Goods For Oct. 28, Bad Juju And Old Helmets

Destiny players in search of rarely sold Exotic Helmets from Xûr get a treat for the weekend of Friday, October 28. The mysterious vendor has a Hunter Helmet not seen in many weeks and a Warlock Helmet not sold in almost a year. PlayStation 4 and Xbox One owners also get a shot at the Bad Juju for the first time since the release of Rise of Iron.

Xûr can be found just outside of the Speaker’s building next to the railing overlooking the city this weekend. Turn left as soon as you spawn in the Tower and run straight to the north part of the social space. Here’s where you can find him on the Tower map.

For those wondering what to get, here are a few helpful hints.

Bad Juju

The Bad Juju is used to reign supreme with Voidwalker Warlocks despite having one of the more difficult quest chains. Its use has toned down some for Year Two, but the power of the “String of Curses” intrinsic perk is hard to deny. It reloads the fully automatic Pulse Rifle weapon automatically after each kill and gives a small damage boost. Every kill also provides bonus Super energy, the benefit of which should be obvious. This is a must get for those who have not been fortunate enough to get it from Destiny’s random loot drops.

Eternal Warrior

The Eternal Warrior helmet will not only give your Titan a statuesque look, but it frees up one of the Striker perk columns. The main draw on this Exotic piece is the “Resolute” perk, which provides “Unstoppable” for Fist of Havoc. This allows Striker Titans to go with “Shoulder Charge” or “Juggernaut” instead. While this is primarily a PVP perk, its other two perks are geared towards PVE. “Hands-On” gives more Super energy from melee kills against minion and “Second Thoughts” does the same, but with Special Weapon kills. Meanwhile, the final column perk of “Infusion” replenishes health when picking up Orbs of Light.

The 57 Intellect/63 Discipline stat roll for the helmet is average for this helmet. Consider re-rolling for better stats and to get “Inverse Shadow” as one of the third column perks.

Achlyophage Symbiote

Hunters that still run Gunslinger in Destiny Year Two will want to pick up this upgrade from what was a beloved Year One piece. The “Last Man Standing” innate perk gives one extra shot to the Golden Gun. Unfortunately, a previous Destiny update reduced the super time of the Gunslinger Hunter thus making it more difficult to get that fourth crucial shot off. This is especially true when not in crowds. Still, a Golden Gun round can now take out a Sunbreaker Titan in a single shot in PVP and an extra shot is always beneficial.

The optional perks are “Ashes to Assets” or “Second Thoughts,” along with “Innervation” as the lone perk in the final column.

The 100 pure Intellect roll is perfect to help regain Super energy quickly. Destiny players may want to consider using the Glass Needles to re-roll to get “Inverse Shadow” as one of the optional perks.

Skull of Dire Ahamkara

This is a bit of a surprise Warlock helmet for the Voidwalker sub-class. The main “Delusions of Grandeur” perk that combines reduced damage while throwing a Nova Bomb with improved Siphon abilities. The energy drain ability now lasts approximately 11 seconds, which in turn means faster grenade energy restoration.

The third column optional perks include “Hands-On” and “Heavy Lifting” for bonus Super energy from melee or Heavy Weapon kills. The final column perk is “Invigoration for bonus melee energy on Orb pickups.

The 100 Intellect stat roll is solid for the Skull of Dire Ahamkara. Consider re-rolling if you need more Strength to synergize your Guardian better with this helmet’s intrinsic perk. Also, shoot for “Inverse Shadow” for the third-column perk while you are there.
