‘Young & Hungry’ Season 5 Renewed By Freeform — Will Emily Osment Still Be The Star Of The Show?

A few days ago, Emily Osment, the star of Young & Hungry, revealed that the series had been renewed by Freeform for Season 5.

According to Movie News Guide, many fans of the series are wondering why it was Emily Osment who confirmed the renewal of Season 5. Why hasn’t Freeform made an official announcement about it?

It was on Twitter that Emily Osment announced that Young & Hungry had officially been renewed for Season 5. The actress said that she was going to start working on the new season and that she was announcing that it had been renewed because no one else had.

Young & Hungry Season 5 was renewed by Freeform two months after Season 4 ended. Some fans may find this surprising as many were speculating whether or not there would even be a Season 5 as the series ratings had continued to decline with every season. This is with the exception of Season 4 which did slightly better than Season 3. Perhaps Freeform decided to renew the series for Season 5 with the hopes of the increase in viewers from Season 3 to Season 4 to continue into this season.

Young & Hungry Season 1 premiered with 0.767 million viewers with 0.36 percent demographics. These numbers had dwindled to 0.534 million viewers by Season 4.

Unfortunately for fans of Young & Hungry, there are currently no details, spoilers, or updates regarding the plots and story arcs that will be covered in Season 5. Fans can only hope the major cast members’ roles will also be renewed for this new season.

Emily Osment’s recent activity on social media has some fans worried regarding whether or not she will continue to be the star of Young & Hungry despite the fact that the series was renewed. This is because the actress recently took to social media to slam the official social media accounts of the series for using her personal pictures with unrelated captions to promote Young & Hungry.

The official social media accounts for the series did not make a comment or reply to what the actress had said about the use of her personal photos. Afterwards, rumors quickly started to spread that Emily Osment would be leaving the show after the series “violated” her privacy by sharing her personal photos.

Would Season 5 of Young & Hungry be any good if Emily Osment was no longer the star? Or, is it possible that Season 5 could be the end of Young & Hungry given the sour relationship between the star of the show and the official social media accounts used to promote the series.

As most Young & Hungry fans know, there is also a spin-off series in the works called Young & Sophia. Ashley Tisdale (known for her role in High School Musical) will be one of the stars of the series. Ashley is the executive producer of both Young & Hungry and the spin-off series. Tisdale has made it clear that other than guest appearances, Young & Hungry fans should not expect too many of the cast members to fall over into the spin-off series. This is largely because Tisdale wants the spin-off series to be able to stand on its own feet. Tisdale’s desire for the series to be independent is perhaps one of the biggest reasons why fans are so scared the parent series is going to get canceled. Fortunately, according to Emily Osment, fans will get to enjoy at least one more season before Freeform cancels the series.

“It’s more of a standalone show,” Tisdale explained during an interview with Entertainment Weekly. “There would be some times that we’d have guest appearances from the other show, but it’s mainly a standalone show. They’re two separate worlds.”
