Halloween is right around the corner and there’s no better time to get the kids involved in the holiday than now. With crafts, coloring, and online activities that children will love, there’s plenty of opportunities for kids to have fun this Halloween. Scarecrows, pumpkins, witches, bats, ghosts, and monsters are all on the crafting menu. There are many activities kids can participate in before celebrating Halloween festivities. Halloween arts and crafts are a great way for kids to spend time before trick-or-treating, visiting haunted houses or attending a Halloween costume party. Here are some ideas for Halloween crafts, coloring pages and online activities children of all ages will enjoy.

If you want to get a kit, you might find that making a Halloween gingerbread house with the kids is a fun weekend project. As Halloween is on Monday, many people will spend the weekend preparing for the big day. JoAnn’s is one place where you can find a Halloween gingerbread, cookie house. Check out other locations such as Wal-Mart, Trader Joe’s, and Target. Or if you’re feeling really brave, assemble your own ingredients and make your own from scratch.

For kids who would like to make a virtual pumpkin carving card, there’s a fun app from Billy Bear 4 Kids. The app lets kids make their own virtual pumpkin postcards in “Mr. Potato Head” fashion. When kids are done adding features to their pumpkin, they can choose to send the postcard via email, or start over. There are plenty of activities to keep children busy crafting and even educational writing ideas for those who would like to craft their own spooky stories.
