ABC 7 NYC reports that the plane carrying Mike Pence skidded off the runway at LaGuardia Airport this evening after a rough landing. The plane reportedly skidded off the runway before coming to a stop at the perimeter fence. There were 37 aboard the plane, including Pence’s wife and his young daughter, at the time of the incident but no injuries have been reported.
ABC News Producer Ines de LaCuetara was on the airplane and says that there are now two large cracks in the runway from the plane’s hard landing and that the airport was subsequently closed until further notice.

LaCuetara’s first-hand account reveals that the Pence plane has experienced other rough landings in the past. Therefore, she says no one on the plane was concerned until the plane started skidding. She noted that no one was injured but the NYFD was on the scene.
Others from inside LaGuardia also posted to Twitter about the incident, some sharing videos of emergency crews on the scene.
