REwindCon Heads To Chicago, Offers A Pop Culture Dream
REwindCon is set to take Chicago by storm in just two weeks. It is a pop culture dream, with soap stars and members of boy bands slated to appear. This is the first event like this available to the public, and it will include panels for the general public and also panels that are only accessible with a VIP ticket. REwindCon was initially supposed to be in the Chicago area earlier this year, but after some things needed to be moved around, November was the month that worked best.
According to the Chicago Tribune, REwindCon is up against another popular event. One Tree Hill fans will be able to see the cast of their show at EyeCon which happens to be running the same weekend as REwindCon. One is in Chicago while the other is being held in the suburb of Bloomingdale. It is located about 45 minutes from the city and is being held at a hotel with a convention center. Each day of REwindCon is packed with pop culture stars and special panels, including private concerts and meet and greets with the celebrities.
The guest list for REwindCon is quite exclusive, especially considering many of these actors are currently airing on shows. Like with any event, the guest list is subject to change or substitution. As of now, stars from General Hospital, Beverly Hills, 90210, Growing Pains, Days of Our Lives, and many more will be in attendance. Names like Tori Spelling, Steve Burton, and Alan Thicke stick out to fans who are anxiously awaiting the event. The website for REwindCon has a list of times each guest will be available for their autographs to be purchased and photos to be taken. Some of the celebrities will appear both days, but a few are only available for one.
If you are interested in seeing different panels, there are several good choices. The REwindCon organizers have set up things so that most of the events doesn’t overlap. You will be able to find a Bachelor panel, Soap Nation panel, Beverly Hills, 90210 panel and several more that are geared toward pop culture phenomenon. Saturday morning begins with The Young and the Restless panel and ends with a VIP concert from Crush and Emerson Drive. Sunday night there is a special concert scheduled with members of several boy bands. The Backstreet Boys, N’SYNC, 98 Degrees, and O-Town will be there. It will be the finale for the weekend and is rumored to be one of the can’t-miss events of the entire weekend.
General admission is around $60 per day, but a discount is available if you plan to go all three days. Friday night will be a party with a DJ and karaoke. The are calling it a “prom,” but it is a welcoming party for the fans who are ready to have the time of their lives. The convention will be booming both Saturday and Sunday. It is recommended that you try and arrive early for your autographs and photos because the lines do get long and crowded fast.
Several packages are available for different price levels for the event. There are three levels of VIP and have different perks available with each. REwindCon is going to be a huge event for Chicago residents and pop culture fans. Tickets are still available but are going fast. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity, especially with several of the stars on the show panels reuniting after years apart. Chicago is the first stop for REwindCon, but it will be expanding to different cities with Dallas being the next on the list and that is slated to happen in the spring of 2017.
