Green Bay quarterback Aaron Rodgers put on a show Sunday night throwing a franchise record six touchdown passes as the Packers destroyed the previously unbeaten Houston Texans 42-24.

Along with his incredible six TDs passes (a career high for the reigning NFL MVP), Rodgers completed 24 of 37 passes for 338 yards and finished the game with a 133.8 passer rating.

“He showed why he was the MVP,” Texans defensive end J.J. Watt said after the game.

On the receiving end of Rodgers’ throws, sticky-fingered Jordy Nelson caught nine passes for 121 yards and three touchdowns for Green Bay, which racked up 427 yards of total offense.

Second-year WR Randall Cobb hauled in seven passes for 102 yards, James Jones caught a pair of TD passes and reserve tight end Tom Crabtree snagged two balls for 62 yards and a score.

“We were all just tired of answering questions about, ‘What happened to the Packers?’ (and) ‘What happened to me?’ It was a good team effort tonight,” said Rodgers, whose 16 TD passes pace the NFL. “Just getting back to the way we were capable of playing. We haven’t gone anywhere.

The 28-year-old star QB continued:

“We had a very good gameplan, Mike (McCarthy) called a great game, and we put it all together tonight.”

After being upset by the Colts in week 5 and a controversial last second loss to the Seattle Seahawks in September, the Packers are now sitting at 3-3 in an NFC North that also features the 4-1 Chicago Bears and 4-2 Minnesota Vikings.
