NFL Trade Rumors: Joe Thomas, Joe Staley To Giants? Cowboys Dez Bryant To New England, Tony Romo To Broncos?

The NFL trade rumors heading into Week 8 of the 2016 NFL season are starting to heat up as the trade deadline draws near. Could the New York Giants be interested in making a deal with the Cleveland Browns for Joe Thomas or the 49ers’ Joe Staley?

Heading into Week 8, the New York Giants are 4-3 on the season and very much alive in the log-jammed NFC East division. One of the biggest issues the G-Men face is their offensive line, but it’s unclear if they are willing to pull the trigger for some much-needed help.

According to a NJ.com report, Pro Football Talk’s Mike Florio indicated that the Giants may be interested in adding some much-needed help to the offensive line before the NFL trade deadline. When it comes to offensive linemen, you don’t get much better than Thomas or Staley. The Browns have said that they have no interest in dealing Thomas, but that could change.

Cleveland is off to their worst start since 1999, and they realistically could finish the season 0-16. If the offer is good enough, the Browns would trade the long time pro-bowler.

When it comes to Staley, many teams are reportedly interested in throwing their hat into the ring.

Besides the Giants, reports indicate the Minnesota Vikings, Arizona Cardinals, Seattle Seahawks, and New England Patriots are also waiting to hear what the asking price from the San Francisco 49ers will be. With the trade deadline set for November 1 at 4 p.m. ET., this could be the final weekend for Thomas and Staley with their current teams.

On to Big D. Are the Dallas Cowboys looking to make a big trade or two before next week’s trade deadline?

How about Dez Bryant to New England? Before you think “this could and would never happen,” consider this: No matter how good a player is, if a deal could help a team by trading him, they will. Right now, the Cowboys are firing on all cylinders without Dez in the lineup. Perhaps the Cowboys are tired of the every other game sideline tirades and have had enough. In addition, you never know what Dallas could get in return, so it may be worth listening to.

According to HNGN, the Cowboys may be shopping the wideout, and New England may be at the top of the list of takers. The Patriots would love to have a go-to guy to help complement Gronk and Julian Edelman. With Brandon LaFell leaving for Cincinnati, adding someone as talented as Bryant could solidify an already good offense in New England.

Bryant does have his share of baggage, although no one knows how to deal with players better than Bill Belichick.

Finally, the rumors around Tony Romo won’t go away, and for good reason. The Morning Ledger reported that it may not be if Romo gets traded, but when. Romo will be 37-years-old next year, and right now he is the odd man out with the impressive play of Dak Prescott. The Broncos would be a perfect fit for Romo, but the Bears are also rumored to be interested in the former Eastern Illinois product.

While many believe that there is no way the Cowboys can trade Romo, they would be foolish not to. Prescott is way too young to say he will be a superstar in the NFL, but how do you pull him out of the lineup now? His performance has been incredible so far, and Romo is too good and gets paid too much money to be second string.

The NFL trade rumors will only get hotter from here as we approach the final weekend before the November 1 trade deadline. Which teams do you think will make a deal?
