Selena Gomez Feels ‘Trapped’ In Rehab As She Continues Lupus Treatment [Report]

Selena Gomez is reportedly struggling to stay put in rehab.

Although recent photos of Selena Gomez seem to suggest that she is healthy and happy, a new report states that she is actually feeling trapped as she attempts to address her ongoing struggles with symptoms of lupus.

“[Selena Gomez] keeps saying she feels like hell,” an insider told In Touch Weekly magazine on October 12, adding that the 24-year-old singer has been faced with “horrific nightmares” as she tends to her mental health struggles at the Brookhaven Retreat in Seymour, Tennessee.

“A few weeks ago, she called her friends and family and told them she felt trapped,” the source explained.

In August, after a show in Auckland, New Zealand, Selena Gomez released a statement to People Magazine about her mental health struggles. In her statement, Gomez explained that her struggles with lupus had led her to experience anxiety, depression and panic attacks.

“As many of you know, around a year ago I revealed that I have lupus, an illness that can affect people in different ways,” Selena Gomez explained to her fans in the statement. “I’ve discovered that anxiety, panic attacks and depression can be side effects of lupus, which can present their own challenges.”

When her statement was made, it was unclear where Selena Gomez was, and she remained out of sight for weeks.

“I want to be proactive and focus on maintaining my health and happiness and have decided that the best way forward is to take some time off,” she continued. “Thank you to all my fans for your support. You know how special you are to me, but I need to face this head on to ensure I am doing everything possible to be my best. I know I am not alone by sharing this, I hope others will be encouraged to address their own issues.”

Following weeks of living in secret, Selena Gomez was photographed by fans at a Texas Roadhouse restaurant in Alcoa, Tennessee, where Us Weekly later revealed the singer had enjoyed a meal with her mother, Mandy, and stepfather, Brian. As the outlet also revealed, Selena Gomez enjoyed a second meal with her grandparents the following day at the Riverstone Restaurant in Townsend, Tennessee, where she was said to be “laughing” a lot as she ate grits and spoke with fans.

Still, several outlets have reported that Selena Gomez’s time in treatment hasn’t been easy for the singer.

“Everyone is worried,” another In Touch Weekly source revealed. “Selena keeps saying she feels like hell and wants to leave the facility or go switch to outpatient treatment.”

On October 23, Surghar Daily suggested Selena Gomez was miserable in treatment, even after getting a visit from her potential new boyfriend, Ed Sheeran. According to the report, rumors have been swirling in regard to Gomez’s possible romance, even though the singer and longtime friend of Taylor Swift was recently spotted having a meal with his high school flame.

Selena Gomez announced the end of her “Revival World Tour” on August 30 after performing her final show in Auckland and at this point, it is hard to say if and when she will reschedule her missed tour dates, which were expected to continue through December of this year.

Since entering treatment weeks ago, Selena Gomez has not spoken publicly nor has she shared any updates on social media with her fans.
