Atlanta Falcons Vs. Green Bay Packers: Bold Predictions For NFL Week 8

The Atlanta Falcons are set to host the Green Bay Packers in NFL Week 8 action on Sunday afternoon. It is going to be a hard-fought game between two playoff contenders in the NFC, with both teams needing a big win.

Aaron Rodgers and the Packers are coming off of a big 26-10 victory over their NFC North division rival Chicago Bears in Week 7. They are 4-2 on the season and are in a dogfight in the division with the 5-1 Minnesota Vikings. If the Packers want to win the division title, they will need to get a winning streak going.

Atlanta, on the other hand, is coming off a tough 33-30 loss at the hands of the San Diego Chargers. They were the better team on paper but simply didn’t play well. Following that loss, the Falcons are 4-3 on the season and cannot afford to begin losing games like they have in recent years.

Needless to say, the stage is set for a very entertaining game this coming Sunday. There are a lot of different stories to keep an eye on this week, especially when it comes to the health of both teams. Green Bay is dealing with a severe injury bug at the running back position, while the Falcons have had nagging injuries to worry about all season long as well to key players.

All of that being said, what bold predictions can be made for this week’s game between the Falcons and Packers?

Julio Jones Will Rack Up at Least 125 Yards, Two Touchdowns

Green Bay does have some questions in their defensive backfield, which bodes well for superstar wide receiver Julio Jones. Atlanta has seen Jones come through with some monstrous performances this season. Jones will rack up at least 125 yards and two touchdowns this week against the Packers.

Aaron Rodgers Will Continue His Dominant Play from Week 7

While the Falcons are a very dangerous offensive team, their defense has struggled in a big way this season. Aaron Rodgers will take advantage of that fact by continuing his dominant play from Week 7. Rodgers will throw for at least 300 yards and three touchdowns throughout the course of the game.

Devonta Freeman Will Get Shut Down by Green Bay’s Defense

As was the case last week for the Bears, it is very difficult to run against the Packers’ defense. They have one of the top run defenses in the NFL, and Devonta Freeman will find that out the hard way this week. Freeman will get shut down all game long, and the Falcons will have to depend on their aerial attack to move the football.

Jordy Nelson Will Finally Break Out with a Big Game

As Bleacher Report mentioned last week, there has been growing concern about Jordy Nelson’s slow start this season. He is coming off of a torn ACL from last season, but he will help silence his critics this week. Nelson will break out with a big game and will torch the Atlanta secondary.

The Green Bay Packers Will Pull Off a Hard-Fought Victory

Both of these teams are going to leave everything they have to offer on the field this week. Green Bay is the better team on paper, and they will show that on the scoreboard when everything is said and done. It won’t be easy, but the Packers are going to move to 5-2 with a huge hard-fought victory over the Falcons.

Expect this game to come down to the fourth quarter. Neither team is going to blow the other out, but the Packers’ defense will come up with a huge stop or two, and Rodgers will cash in.
