Charlie Sheen Baseball Movie Role Inspired Him — Will He Throw The Ceremonial First Pitch For The World Series?
As you may remember, Charlie Sheen had the role of a character called Rick “Wild Thing” Vaughn in two different baseball-themed movies – Major League and Major League II. It would appear as if his baseball movie role has inspired him to want to throw the first ceremonial pitch for Game 1 of the World Series this year.
In movies, Major League and Major League II, Charlie Sheen played the role of the Cleveland Indians flame-throwing pitcher Rick “Wild Thing” Vaughn. Considering his role in a baseball-themed movie series, he was inspired to want to throw the first pitch for the Indians. After all, it has been a pretty long time since the Indians made it to the World Series. Seems like a fitting match, right?

It was on Thursday that Charlie tweeted how “honored” he would be to throw that first pitch. “Major League continues to be the gift that keeps on giving! If called upon, I’d be honored,” he tweeted. He attached a picture of his days as a faux player for the Indians to the message.

The question is – will Charlie Sheen’s baseball movie themed inspiration get him anywhere? Would the Major League Baseball let Sheen throw that first ceremonial pitch?
The Chicago Tribute reports that Charlie Sheen is going to have to keep “Wild Thing” from the baseball movie two-part saga in the bullpen for now. Why? Because the Major League Baseball claims that decisions regarding who will throw the first pitch during Game 1 have already been made, and Charlie Sheen didn’t make the cut.
A spokesman of the Major League Baseball claims to have already worked with the Indians in order to identify “former franchise greats” in order to allow one of them to throw that first ceremonial pitch. An announcement on exactly who it is that will be throwing that first pitch has yet to be made. But, the announcement is expected to come next week. Unfortunately for Charlie Sheen, it would appear as if his baseball movie inspired idea is not going to be enough for the Indians to offer him the honor of throwing the first pitch.
The Indians will host Game 1 and Game 2 of the World Series on Tuesday and Wednesday. If necessary, Cleveland will host Game 6 and 7 of the World Series on November 1 and 2.

I'm all in for Charlie Sheen throwing out 1st pitch in World Series if he comes in from bullpen, in costume, w/vest & glasses & music.

As you can see, both Indians and Charlie Sheen fans are pretty adamant about him throwing the pitch being a good idea. Too bad the MLB doesn’t feel the same way.
