NFL Scores: Oakland Raiders Beat Jacksonville Jaguars, Remain Undefeated On The Road

While NFL coaches will usually try to downplay the situation, many of them love beating teams that used to employ them. Jack Del Rio managed to get that sensation today. The Oakland Raiders defeated the Jacksonville Jaguars by a score of 33-16, as reported by ESPN. It was quite the decisive victory for Del Rio.

Jack Del Rio spent close to a decade as the head coach of the Jacksonville Jaguars. Seeing him doing well with another team did not sit well with the Jaguars fans in the audience. Del Rio was booed as he was jogging on to the field before the start of the game.

Latavius Murray was forced to miss a pair of games for the Oakland Raiders because of a turf toe injury. His return helped to spark the team. While Murray was only able to generate 59 yards on 18 carries, he was able to score twice for the Raiders.

When Michael Crabtree left the San Francisco 49ers as a free agent, many felt that he was on the decline. That is why he had to settle for a reduced contract with the Oakland Raiders. Crabtree continues to prove people wrong. Against the Jacksonville Jaguars today, the veteran caught eight passes, gained 96 passing yards, and scored a touchdown.

If it feels like Sebastian Janikowski has been in the NFL forever, it’s pretty close. The kicker is on his 17th season, all with the Oakland Raiders. The former first round pick proved his worth once again by successfully kicking four field goals against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

For the first couple of weeks of the season, the Oakland Raiders defense had failed to live up to their billing. Management spent a good amount of money during the summer adding key pieces. Against the Jacksonville Jaguars, the Raiders showed flashes of how well they can disrupt opposing offenses in the NFL.

With the victory, the Oakland Raiders now hold a 5-2 record, which has them currently at the top of the AFC West. Four of their victories have come on the road, so they need to improve at home to increase their chances of making it to the NFL Playoffs.

The Jacksonville Jaguars also need to improve their play at home as well. The franchise has now lost three in a row in their own stadium. It was already hard enough to generate interest from the fan base, but all this losing is simply going to keep a lot of them away.

Jacksonville Jaguars head coach Gus Bradley was already on the hot seat heading into the game against the Oakland Raiders. The heat has been elevated a bit because the Jaguars did not look like they even belong on the same field as the Raiders.

Frustrations were high for the Jacksonville Jaguars. Malik Jackson, who won a Super Bowl earlier in the year with the Denver Broncos, has grown tired of the losing. The defensive tackle was kicked out of the game because he was being abusive towards a referee after roughing the passer penalty.

Jalen Ramsey appeared frustrated as well. He ended up being ejected from the game for getting into a fight with one of the Oakland Raiders wide receivers. The rookie believed that he was walking into a good situation with the Jacksonville Jaguars, but it looks like things have not changed.

In a game that was circled on the calendar before the beginning of the regular season, it was a bit disappointing that the Jacksonville Jaguars could not provide more competition for the Oakland Raiders. These two teams were potential opponents in the NFL Playoffs.
