Drake Releasing New Music For His 30th Birthday? ‘Too Good’ Rapper Rumored To Debut New Song On OVO Sound Radio Tonight

Drake may be gearing up for his 30th birthday celebration on October 24, but is the “Too Good” rapper also planning on releasing new music this weekend in honor of his special day? According to reports, Drake is heavily rumored to debut a new song during a special birthday edition of OVO Sound Radio via Apple Music on October 23 after dropping several hints via Instagram over the weekend.

Last week, Drake ignited rumors of a potential new music release after taking to Instagram on Thursday to share a sweet throwback photo of him and his parents from his second birthday celebration before hinting that a special edition of OVO Sound Radio would be taking place this weekend just one day shy of his 30th birthday on October 24.

“Turn into ovosound radio episode 32 my birthday show with mix by me and @oliverelkhatib on October 23 3pm PST / 6pm EST / 10pm GMT @applemusic,” Drake wrote on Instagram alongside several emojis.

Furthermore, Drake appeared to personally confirm the new song rumors via Instagram after responding to a fan’s inquiry about the possibility of a new music release during this weekend’s episode of OVO Sound Radio, as captured in a screengrab by Twitter user, The 6 Track.

In the post, one fan can be seen inquiring about whether or not a new music release from Drake is on its way in honor of OVO Sound’s special birthday mix edition on Sunday, prompting Drake to tag the fan in the comment section of the post and respond with several emojis that seemingly confirm rumors of an impending release from the If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late entertainer.

While it’s unclear what type of new music release we may be expecting from Drake, whether it be a new single release or a new collaborative track, several fan sites have pointed out that a new collaboration between Drake and artist 21 Savage is most likely given the number of hints that the rapper has dropped on social media over the past few days. Not only do Drake and 21 Savage share the same birthday month, with the “X B****” rapper having turned 24 just this past Saturday, but the rapper appeared to further fuel the Drake collaboration rumors after taking to Instagram yesterday to encourage fans to tune into Sunday’s newest episode of OVO Sound Radio via Apple Music’s Beats 1 program, Hot New Hip Hop (HNHH) reports.

The news comes just days after Drake fueled the hype surrounding his rumored new music release via Instagram after telling fans on Friday that his upcoming 30th birthday year may be his “best year” yet.

Earlier this weekend, Drake took to the social media site to respond to one fan site’s reflection on the rapper’s journey to his milestone 30th birthday celebration, prompting Drake to respond to the fan’s post with a message that reads, “Just getting warmed up. My Steph year might be my best year.”

This isn’t the first time that Drake has turned to his OVO Sound Radio program in order to tease new music arrivals; earlier this year, Drake unveiled the official title and release date for his fourth studio album, Views, via the bi-monthly radio program in April shortly after debuting the album’s lead singles, “Pop Style,” and “One Dance,” via the radio program just weeks prior. Given Drake’s history of unveiling new music during the exclusive radio show, it’s likely that we can expect a new song release from the “For Free” rapper later this evening.

Tune into tonight’s 32nd episode of OVO Sound Radio at 3 p.m. PST/6 p.m. EST on Beats 1 Radio via Apple Music to hear Drake’s latest music release and rumored collaboration with rapper 21 Savage.
