Margot Robbie Joins Kylie Minogue To Campaign For Gay Marriage In Australia, Delights In ‘SNL’ Skits

Margot Robbie, the talented Australian actress, has earned her place among Hollywood’s top actresses by starring in Suicide Squad as Harley Quinn, the DC Comics super-villain who saved the world by teaming with other villains.

Now, the actress has become a real-life activist by joining forces with other celebrities and urging government authorities to legalize gay marriage in her native Australia. Despite earning fame in Hollywood, Margot is very much attached to her native country and is concerned about serious issues faced by her fellow Australians.

According to News Australia, Margot Robbie enthusiastically campaigned for the legalization of gay marriage when she hosted the premiere of the 42nd season of Saturday Night Live, the popular television show.

While hosting the show, the popular actress promoted Joshua Sasse’s “Say ‘I Do’ Down Under” campaign to legalize same-sex marriage in Australia. As a part of the campaign, Joshua launched a website where activists fundraise by selling T-Shirts with the logo “Say ‘I Do’ Down Under.”

Margot Robbie hosted Saturday Night Live wearing the T-shirt with a printed rainbow-colored map of Australia. This is just one of many social projects Margot Robbie has been working on. Earlier, she teamed up with UK’s Comic Relief and the Philippines’ Rise Above Foundation to raise money for underprivileged children.

Besides Margot Robbie, Kylie Minogue is helping her fiancé Joshua Sasse and raising her voice for gay marriage in Australia. Margot Robbie is the latest actress to join the growing number of popular celebrities who are urging the Australian government to legalize gay marriage. Celebrities that include both actors and musicians have always been vocal about gay rights issues, so no one is surprised that Margot has aligned herself with a cause that was taken up by her favorite heavy metal band – Slipknot.

Music Feeds reports that Margot Robbie appeared on Jimmy Fallon’s The Tonight Show and revealed that, when she was a teenager, she was completely obsessed with Slipknot.

And more than the band’s music, it was actually their stage performance that thrilled her. Incidentally, Slipknot has always been a supporter of gay rights and had previously condemned North Carolina’s anti-LGTB laws by teaming up with the LGTB charity.

Margot Robbie has always been very bold when it comes to stating her opinions. Earlier, she criticized a Vanity Fair article that had not only accused the actress of being a sexist but mocked Australians for being a “throwback people.” The famous actress had the total support of her fans when she described the Vanity Fair interview as really “weird.” However, fans would agree that the interview wasn’t nearly as strange as “The Librarian,” one of Margot Robbie’s comedy sketches in the premiere episode of Saturday Night Live’s 42nd season.

According to Slash Film, Margot Robbie’s comedy sketch had the actress portraying a sensual librarian who shocks her ogling students by revealing that she is, in fact, a psycho killer.

Margot Robbie’s comedy skills became apparent during her two Saturday Night Live sketches, “Live Report” and “Actress Round Table.” Earlier, her acting skills became evident when she delivered stellar performances in The Wolf of Wall Street, The Legend of Tarzan, and Suicide Squad. And even though she’s famously recognized as the actress who popularized DC’s Harley Quinn, Margot Robbie is making her versatility well known by playing diverse characters in upcoming movies like Queen of the Air and Goodbye Christopher Robin. Additionally, Margot Robbie, who has now created her own production company, will soon be producing a movie that’s based entirely on Harley Quinn.
