San Fransisco-Oakland Bay Bridge Repairs Might Not Be Complete For Tuesday’s Commute

San Fransisco, CA (AHN) – San Francisco Bay area commuters are being told not to expect repairs to the Bay Bridge to be done in time for it to re-open to traffic on Tuesday morning and they are being urged to find an alternate route to work.
Bay Bridge was closed Thursday for a seismic retrofitting project that involves cutting out part of a double decker section of the east span.
However, officials found a bad crack in an eyebar and are unsure if work to repair that can be done in time for the bridge to re-open to rush hour traffic at 5 a.m. Tuesday. Officials reportedly will know more by 5 p.m. Monday.
In the meantime, the tens of thousands of commuters who normally cross the San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge every day are being told it would be prudent to have an alternate route in mind for Tuesday’s drive.
