Kate Middleton Is ‘Incredibly Likeable’ And Cares Least About Being A Celebrity, Says ‘Vogue’ Editor

British Vogue editor Alexandra Schulman has nothing but words of admiration for the Duchess of Cambridge who was surprisingly low-key. The editor has talked about what it was like to have Catherine Middleton, still referred to by the public as “Kate,” on the set of the fashion magazine.

For its centenary issue, Vogue had a secret shoot in Norfolk featuring Prince William’s other half. Having Kate on the cover is a feat for Vogue because it was her first ever interview with a magazine.

The publication kept the news under wraps for four months, but it appears to be worth it as Alexandra described Kate as “incredibly likeable” to ES Magazine.

“She’s incredibly likeable. She really is. She wants to do what she’s doing well, and she’s very professional.”

Alexandra also compared Kate with the late Princess Diana. She revealed that being a celebrity is something that the Duchess doesn’t really care about. While Kate is consistently photographed looking polished and making her the fashion inspiration of many, Alexandra claims that for the mother-of-two, it’s the professional side of her job.

“Diana was more interested in that high-voltage celebrity, that was something she really embraced. The Duchess of Cambridge is prepared to do her bit, but it’s not one of the things that she most cares about. She loves her kids and the countryside. Dressing up, that’s a professional side to her. It’s a sort of uniform, all those lovely couture costumes.”

Kate’s Vogue photo shoot took place in late January in a place that’s close to her heart. Supporters of the royal couple know that instead of residing at Kensington Palace, they are in the 10-bedroom Anmer Hall. The place, which was a gift from the Queen, allows Kate and William to have more privacy.

During the photo shoot, Kate reportedly said that she wanted to have “no-frills snapshots.” This is why the photographs showed her wearing “off-duty” clothes, including jeans and shirts. The photos were displayed in the “Vogue 100: A Century of Style” exhibit at the National Portrait Gallery.

Josh Olins, the man behind the shots, had a great time working with the “cheerful and incredibly patient” Duchess.

“This was the Duchess’ first sitting for a magazine and she was a joy to work with, a natural. I am incredibly grateful to (editor) Alexandra Shulman for placing her faith in me for such an important and historic assignment,” he said in a press release, according to Hello.

It is truly refreshing to see Kate posing for Vogue for she’s always been fiercely determined to shield her family from the press. With the help of William, her aim is to give George and Charlotte a shot at living normal lives.

As previously stated by a local to Vanity Fair, the family loves staying in the countryside because it’s where they can live “below the radar.”

“They are rarely bothered. We are used to having royals in this part of the world. We often see them out with George and Charlotte, but no one takes pictures or tries to talk to them. That’s why they love it here. They love the normality of life in Norfolk, whether it’s popping to the butcher or into a local toyshop to get another helicopter for George.”

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are aware that their time in Norfolk is numbered because the Queen is already 90, and she will soon anticipate her son and grandsons to dedicate more time to royal duties.

Despite this realization, Ben Elliot, co-founder of luxury concierge company Quintessentially and a friend of the couple, claims that Kate and William remain determined to set the “foundations for a stable and happy childhood for the prince and princess.”
