The body of 30-year-old journalist and missing Florida resident Sean Dugas was discovered in a Georgia backyard this week. The journalists body had been encased in concrete and officials verified his remains using dental records and CT scans.

Dugas who went missing on  August 27, 2012 was a former crime reporter at the Pensacola News Journal where he worked form 2005 to 2010.

Charged with his murder are twin brothers William and Christopher Cormier. The brothers had earlier been charged with concealing a death in the case.

The body of the slain man was found in a plastic storage container that had been encased with concrete.

Police estimate that the body was placed inside the concrete and buried three weeks ago and that the concrete was purchased at Home Depot.

The 31-year-old twin brothers buried the body at their father’s home, telling him at the time that it was the body of a dead dog.

Speaking of the slain reporter Pensacola News Journal editor Ginny Graybiel tells CNN:

“He started as a clerk and became a police reporter — along the way he did a good bit of entertainment coverage …  Sean was a very gentle, good-hearted soul. To be the victim of a crime like this is, of course, something we never could have imagined.”

It was Dugas’ girlfriend who realized he was missing on August 27 when she went to pick him up for lunch and he was not at his house. On September 7 Dugas’ girlfriend returned to the home and everything was gone but a TV. Dugas’ roommate was also nowhere to be seen.

Dugas’ girlfriend officially reported him missing on September 17.
