‘Once Upon A Time’ Season 6: Sean Maguire On Robin Hood’s Return – No Flashbacks? ‘Interesting’ Comeback [Spoilers]

Once Upon A Time is bringing back Robin Hood in Season 6. While many fans thought it would be through flashbacks, actor Sean Maguire hinted that might not be the case. Find out everything that is known about his return and what else to expect in the fairy tale drama.

Regina (Lana Parrilla) was dealt a devastating blow when Robin Hood died tragically last season. The Once Upon A Time actress, who also plays the Evil Queen, has already gone through so much in her life. It explains a lot about her complex personality. Finally, she had found love with Robin Hood. However, that was suddenly taken away from her.

Once Upon A Time fans were concerned that it could cause Regina to turn evil again. However, that doesn’t seem to be the case. There is evil on the show, but it isn’t from Regina, just the part of her that was separated during the season finale.

There needs to be some closure and it looks like that is going to happen. It is confirmed that Sean Maguire is returning to Once Upon A Time for multiple episodes. However, the actor didn’t want it to be a flashback return, according to Entertainment Weekly.

“I mean in all honesty, I’ve had conversations with the chaps [executive producers Adam Horowitz and Edward Kitsis], we’ve had creative discussions about how Robin would be able to come back, and I said, ‘Look, I just feel like… it would make me feel unsatisfied as an audience member to do it as flashbacks,’ and they said, ‘No, that’s not our intention.'”

Maguire could not reveal details on how or why Robin Hood returns to Once Upon A Time. However, the actor did say that it will give closure, answer questions, and it is an interesting storyline.

“I don’t really know what the full completion of this arc is, I just know the premise and I thought it sounded interesting enough to give the audience that little bit of closure, and myself as well, because [I thought] it was rather quick and abrupt, too.”

With that being said, don’t expect Robin Hood to be resurrected from the dead. If it isn’t via flashbacks and he isn’t coming back to life, then how will Sean Maguire return? That is the big question, but fans won’t find out the answer until his return airs on ABC. The actor also spoke about his time as Robin Hood on Once Upon A Time.

“It was lovely, absolutely lovely [to play him], and I’m so grateful to the writers and everyone on the show for helping make that character a popular character, because I feel very blessed to have played him.”

As for what is coming next, Sunday night’s episode is titled “Street Rats.” As Once Upon A Time fans guessed, it has to do with Aladdin’s (Deniz Akdeniz) storyline. A sneak peek clip reveals that Princess Jasmine (Karen David) seeks out Aladdin and hopes to hire him. Her character in the classic film was independent and confident. However, she seems even more so in the promo clip. Fans are looking forward to Aladdin and Jasmine’s arc and are interested to see specifically what happens to Aladdin as the Savior. This is because it will connect to Emma Swan’s (Jennifer Morrison) Savior dilemma. If Aladdin survived, then there must be hope for Emma, too.
