Khloe Kardashian Engaged? Tristan Thompson Relationship Could Be ‘Ratings Gold,’ Source Reports

Is Khloe Kardashian engaged? No formal announcement has been made about an engagement for the Keeping Up With the Kardashians star and her most recent beau, Tristan Thompson, but that hasn’t stopped the celebrity gossip websites from speculating.

The most recent version of the rumor alleges that Kardashian wants to get engaged to the Cleveland Cavaliers player because she and her famous momager, Kris Jenner, believe Khloe’s story line could be “ratings gold.”

Celeb Dirty Laundry is reporting that Kris Jenner wants Thompson on the show because she believes that Thompson’s current situation — he’s expecting a baby with a woman who isn’t Khloe — would bring in a lot of viewers.

In fact, Celeb Dirty Laundry goes on to report, Jenner believes the story would be so popular that Khloe could even possibly have her own spinoff with the NBA player.

“Kris desperately wants a new project to work on and thinks Khloé and Tristan’s show would be ratings gold, especially if they include all the drama surrounding the basketball player leaving his pregnant ex for her daughter.”

Sounds familiar, no? Back in 2011 and 2012, Khloe Kardashian had own series when she and her now estranged husband, Lamar Odom, starred in Khloe & Lamar. Just recently, the Inquisitr reported via Hollywood Life that Lamar’s family blames Khloe and their show for all of his current substance abuse problems.

Of course, Celeb Dirty Laundry acknowledges that the Kardashian-Jenner family wouldn’t want to make similar mistakes with Tristan Thompson.

“It goes without saying that no one in the Kardashian family, with Khloe’s mother included, wants to see her make the same mistake she made with her ex-husband Lamar Odom,” Celeb Dirty Laundry wrote. “But knowing just how manipulative Kris is, she would be willing to see Khloe and Tristan engaged just to help generate interest in her own show, Keeping Up With The Kardashians, before green-lighting another spin-off for her daughter. With ratings at an all-time low, Kris desperately needs another story line before losing her audience – and maybe even her show altogether.”

Celeb Dirty Laundry has put quite the rumor out there, and according to another celebrity news site, the entire story is false. Gossip Cop reported Saturday that there is absolutely no truth to the Khloe Kardashian engagement story whatsoever.

“As Gossip Cop has said for a few weeks now, Kardashian is not rushing her romance with Thompson. She is letting the relationship unfold naturally and simply taking things as they come as they each go about their busy lives. That’s what’s really going on,” Gossip Cop wrote. “But it seems outlets like Celeb Dirty Laundry are ‘desperate’ to make it seem otherwise. All that, though, is nothing but unfounded rumor.”

In September, it was reported that Khloe K and Tristan Thompson were “casually dating” and taking things slowly. At the time, People reported that the 25-year-old basketball player and the 32-year-old reality TV star had been “seeing each other for a bit.”

“It’s unclear for now if it’s going to turn [into] anything super serious, but for now they’re having a good time together.”

The report came shortly after the pair were seen together vacationing in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. The week before, Khloe and Tristan were seen in a Los Angeles nightclub together.
